Travelling to Gangtok from Kolkata is almost similar journey to Darjeeling from Kolkata. Staring from Kolkata, you will reach to Siliguri in about 14 hours and then you can relax for a day.

Then you can complete your trip to Darjeeling or as a separate plan to visit directly Gangtok, you can go. It will take around 3-4 hours, depends up on traffic on the way. Sikkim tour can divide in zones e.g. south Sikkim, west Sikkim, north Sikkim and east Sikkim. After reaching to Gangtok, you can plan to visit the famous places of Sikkim.
