How to reach Thangkharang a beautiful place to visit near Cherrapunji
North East of India is one of the most beautiful location that people can visit every year to get a peaceful days from their daily work life. Amazing mountains, rivers and forest make you emotional. You can’t escape yourself from this nature. One of the attractive place is Cherapinji. This place has the highest railfall in world. The record rainfall was recorded up-to 9300 mm. Cherrapunji is called by “Sohra” by its local language.
Thangkharang is a famous place nearer to Cherapunjii, Which is only 24 km away from Cherapunjii. Another attractive tourist place is Dawki. Which is 84 km away from Cherrapunjii. On the way to Dawki from Cherapunjii you will be witness of small village, green valleys and plots of agriculture land, shade of pine trees. There are lots of coal mines on the way you can see.

How will you reach there: –
The distance from Cherrapunji to Thangkharang is 24 km. It will take about 2.30 minutes. You can hire a taxi from Cherrapunji. It will be a safe journey. You can also go to Cherrapunji from Shillong. The distance from Shillong to Cherrapunji is only 54 km.

How to visit Thangkharang from Cherrapunji: –
You can hire a taxi for the whole day to see all the places in Cherrapunji. That would be the best option. To see all the places, they will hire a reserve 10-seat Tata Sumo at Rs 1,800-2,000. And a 4-seat taxi at Rs 1,400-1,600. Thangkharang Park, situated at 12 km from Sohra (previously known as Cherrapunjee) is a must-see spot. This eco-park in Meghalaya is located just beside the Khoh Ramhah rock, a single rock formation in the shape of a giant cone, and offers a breathtaking view of distant Sylhet Plains of neighboring Bangladesh and the Kynrem Falls, which cascades down in three stages from the top of the hill.
From Thangkharang to Seven Sisters Falls. From there to Mosmai Cave, Mosmai Falls, Nangithiang Falls, Eco Park, Arwa Cave, Dynhlen Falls to Nohkalikhai Falls. Nohkalikhai Falls is near Bangladesh View Point. You can see it when you come to Cherrapunji from Makdak View Point Dauki. You can also come and see it again.
It is a matter of luck to be able to see the places of Cherrapunji properly. It almost always rains throughout the year. If the weather is bad, the falls are covered with clouds. Luck is very much needed to visit Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikhai Falls.
