Snapdragon 8 GEN 1 The Next Generation 2022 Mobile

This right here is the fastest android ever. Inside this box I’ve managed to get early access to the first phone in the world powered by the next generation of chips. You’ve probably heard of the snapdragon 888. That’s powering almost every 2021 flagship. But this has what they’re calling the snapdragon 8 GEN 1 super top secret packaging right here. This is going to be the chip inside your next phone and it’s going to have 10 insane implications for it. So let’s dive into an early look at 2022 flagship phones.

So number 10 is to do with AI and I know AI has been like the industry buzzword for the last five years. I feel like I’m becoming numb from hearing it. But this is what you need to know for some time. Now smartphones have had traditional CPU and GPU cores but also separate AI cores which because they’re intelligent can take some tasks that the CPU and GPU would have had to have used large amounts of brute force to just power through and come up with clever efficient solutions and now with this eight gen one the AI core is four times more capable than that of current high-end phones.

Which gives it a whole new level of tasks that it can take on. It means that your next phone will be able to understand the context of your notifications and sort them into urgent and non-urgent piles. It’ll be able to extract the data from an article online and before you even click it tell you if that article is going to have a positive or a negative intonation.

The chip even enables real-time monitoring of your voice patterns to be able to alert you if it then detects you have health conditions, like asthma or covet. But probably the best example of this AI in action is gaming because there is a raw power improvement here. The new chip CPU is now 20 faster than current flagships. The new graphics call the GPU is 30 faster. But the bigger difference you’ll notice while playing are two sneaky AI tricks just for fun. You’ve got four times as many pixels that you have to sort and so the task multiplies in difficulty.

However with this new chip your GPU can still perform these calculations at low resolution. Let’s say 1080p but then send these 1080p frames to the AI cores which can then intelligently upscale them into high resolution ones let’s say in 4k. So you can have the smooth frame rates of low resolution gaming but the crisp visuals of high resolution gaming and on a similar note for a game to feel smooth your phone would normally have to do all these pixel calculations 30 times per second.

Snapdragon 8 GEN 1

However the AI is now crafty enough that instead of having to calculate 30 frames per second through brute force. It can now calculate just 15 frames and use motion estimation which understands the direction things are moving in to insert intermediate frames to go in between each real frame. So this tech alone can double the frame rate of a game.

They can turn an unplayable 15 frames per second into a fluid 30. And hey if a game was already running smoothly. Well then you can instead just take half the workload off your graphics course and allow the AI to fill in the gaps. You won’t realize it’s happening until you check your battery percentage afterwards.

Now one of the big themes with this chip is efficiency you can tell that a lot of the decisions that have been made are implicitly geared around how do we do the same task using less energy and as well as that being good for just general. Well snappiness the spin-off effect should also be better battery life. You might know for example that every current generation chip is based on a five nanometre fabrication process.

This one is built on four nanometres. It just means that everything has been built on an even more minute scale didn’t think it could get any smaller. The way I like to think about it is as traveling down a shorter road. If everything is built tighter together electrons can get to where they need to get to with less resistance. Thus reducing energy waste.

But it’s not just fabrication process almost every little section of this chip has had internal optimizations to it. The point is QUALCOMM is claiming significant power efficiency improvements this time around. But given how crazy battery life’s already gotten on phones this year even if this can translate to just a further 10 boost this chip might be the one to permanently bury battery woes in the past.

All right top five speaking of the various different sections of your chip. This is your yearly reminder that your phone’s chipset is about much more than just power. It’s the entire brain it’s responsible for everything from your security to your audio quality and it’s also where your modem sits or in other words it affects your signal and every single year QUALCOMM has been bumping up maximum download speeds.

In 2020 for example the best chip that you could get supported five gigabits per second. In 2021 that was lifted up to 7.5 and now for phones in 2022 the snapdragon 8 gen 1 will allow for you guessed it 10 gigabits per second. It is a colossal figure but not that big of a deal for me. I barely get 5g and can you even call this a village. So what I’m more excited about is what they call AI antenna tuning which how many times I have said AI now can boost your range.

You know how your phone is lined with antenna bands right like all the way around you might have 10 different bands to improve signal. Well the issue is that the majority of the time depending on how you hold it, you’re probably blocking half of them. So with the snapdragon 8gen1 the company’s figured out a way to figure out what grip the phone is being held in and then redirect power from the antenna you’re blocking to the antenna you’re not. 200 IQ move right there.

All right it’s time to talk about cameras because every single year smartphone makers are relying a little less on the physical lenses and sensors and a little more on the processing of what comes out of them and so the single component that’s becoming the most significant is no longer the things it used to be. It’s the image signal processor which hopefully to no one’s surprise is what does the image processing.

Well you might want to get a seat for this. The image processor on this new snapdragon 8 gen 1 chip can crunch through not 30 more camera data or even 100 more camera data. I am talking 40 000 percent more camera data than current phones.

It’s so much data that you know how the iPhone 13 can take 12 megapixel photos right. This chip gives you the capability to take 12 megapixel photos 240 times per second and this also translates to video we’ve seen 8k phones before. But so far there’s always been a major caveat like graininess or poor stabilization but it’s looking pretty likely that in 2022 that won’t be the case anymore.

The snapdragon 8 gen 1 will allow phones to pump out 8K HDR 10 plus footage and it’s actually recording higher than that 8k video is about the equivalent of a stream of continuous 33 megapixel photos but this chip can do a continuous 64 megapixel recording. That’s approaching 12k but what it will end up meaning is 8k with extra room around the edges to be able to crop in and improve stabilization.

Oh also you know how apple just came out with that cinematic video mode that was capped at 1080p well this also enables cinematic video at 4k but we will have to wait and see on how well companies take advantage of that and then number two probably the crown jewel of the photography experience you’ve heard of night mode, right when phones spend a few seconds capturing multiple frames and then fusing them together to increase brightness and reduce noise.

You’ve probably also seen some companies labelling their improved versions of night mode a super night mode. Well the snapdragon 8 gen 1 is claiming to bring in mega knight mode capable of fusing together five times more frames in the same capture time.  So what’s number one then well all of that cool stuff that we’ve just talked about is being achieved through the main image signal processor of this new chip.

It’s actually a triple ISP. It’s got three cores to be able to process three camera feeds at once but the reason I’m telling you this is that probably the single coolest part of this chip is that for the first time ever there was actually a secret fourth image signal processor. It’s completely separate to the part of the chip that handles camera it actually sits in the AI section.

So to put this another way this is the first time that your phone’s AI can use data from your camera and what makes this significant is that this fourth ISP has been optimized to use almost zero power and as such can be always on. Let me give you an example of what this will mean so you know how now if you wanted to use face unlock on your phone you have to double tap your screen or pick your phone up first right.

Not anymore because your phone can be constantly assessing camera data now you just peer over and look and equally the second you stop looking your phone will be able to lock itself. You won’t even realize it’s happening but it means that no one else can use your phone it could actually be the beginning of the end for lock screens. You won’t need them anymore and it even means that if your phone notices that someone else behind you is trying to pry on your screen it can lock itself down. Cool or kind of scary what do you think?

The splash has a bright full HD mini projector and an extremely short projection distance, which means you can get bigger pictures in less space. In projector mode, the splash has an automatic vertical keystone correction, so the image is corrected automatically if you tilt the projector upwards. Splay is not only a portable projector, it can also double as a fully portable screen that is compatible with your smartphone, laptop or gaming device.

Splay Display Cum Projector

Splay is the largest portable screen on the market, 24.5 inches in size. Battery life up to 4 hours and super bright 800 nits, you can work without stress in any indoor environment and outside in the cooling area.

Which can significantly reduce wrinkles when folded. No other screen can be fully folded and opened in all directions! As well as pulling with an arm, it ensures a flat, durable screen that delivers high-quality images!

Compared to traditional vinyl and plastic softener projectors on the market, the spray screen does not shrink no matter how often it is folded and opened. Material-based screens are heavy, bulky, difficult to install, and the quality of the backlight image is poor (because the holes in the material prevent light from being evenly distributed). All other portable projectors weighing less than 5 pounds require approximately 3 times or more projection distance as a splash.

All other super-short throw projectors weigh about 5 pounds or more and take more volume than the splash. The tension weighs only 2.5 pounds. Finding the perfect location for a traditional theme projector can be painful, you need to make sure it is far away from the wall so the picture is big enough and clear enough, and then make sure it is above everyone’s head, so the picture you have no shadows! The extremely short throw distance of the splash means you can get brighter, bigger and clearer images while the splash is only a few feet from your surface.

It may seem easy to enlarge a flat, full-voltage display quickly and permanently, but it is not (which is why we have granted mechanical patents all over the world)! Traditional projector monitors take a long time to set up (quick installation usually takes about 10 minutes) and are in line with the projector. With a splash, you can do it in seconds. The Splay patented telescope arm is very durable and easy to use!

Samsung losing to Xiaomi – Case study

Day by day Samsung is facing more trouble in this competitive market. Their last flagship phones the galaxy S21 series. They only sold 13.5 million units after six months compare that to the 20 million they sold this time. Almost 100 million iPhone 12, the apple sold in the same time frame and it becomes pretty clear that Samsung is losing its grip. They’ve been overtaken in key markets around the world. Their leader is in jail for bribery and the company has apparently just entered a management crisis. Where the entire mobile division is being reviewed to find out what’s wrong. But what is wrong?

It’s not like Samsung suddenly started making rubbish phones. Their S21 flagships are better and cheaper than last year’s phones. Their foldable phones are market leading. It’s not obvious looking at the company’s output that Samsung mobile is struggling. The answer or at least a big part of the answer is Xiaomi.

In this article I will discuss five fascinating reasons for losing the market.  Xiaomi started in 2010 that’s just 11 years ago but even then by 2014 they’d overtaken Samsung in china. By 2018 they’d beaten them in India and just now in 2021 they’ve knocked them off the top spot globally. That’s ridiculous that doesn’t even make any sense how well one key advantage that Xiaomi has because of how late they started is that. They’ve been built around being a digital first company and that’s allowed them to just be more efficient. While Samsung used to sell in only brick and mortar stores and they’re now trying to straddle this with online channels too every aspect of Xiaomi strategy from their marketing to their production lines are built with online in mind. They use things like flash sales and fan events to capitalize on free media as opposed to opting for traditional but expensive billboards and TV efforts. They’ve basically structured themselves to avoid the extra costs and the bureaucracy that come with having larger offline companies.

For example they don’t have meetings for the sake of having meetings. They only have physical stores when they want to focus on products that actually need a physical demonstration. But most importantly because of all this they’ve managed to massively streamline their staff. Let me be very clear here this company has managed to exceed Samsung in sales with only seven percent of the number of full-time employees, twenty thousand versus three hundred thousand. Okay congratulations to them. But where this starts impacting Samsung is that these cost savings combined with Xiaomi’s relative disregard of high profit margins means that they choose to make their phones cheaper.

I distinctly remember when I first started testing Xiaomi phones, I was a literal baby back then but even then by this point I tested a lot of cheap Chinese phones. You had Cubot and Umidigi and Ukitel etc and while I was always impressed by the price to performance ratio of those phones. Xiaomi was different I hadn’t really heard of them at the time but I just remember being completely in awe of how they were just as affordable as these cheap Chinese phones. But at the same time they had the premium hardware and software of phones that people in the UK were spending twice as much money on.

Just for fun I would actually go and hand the original Xiaomi Redmi note to my friends and just ask them to guess how much I paid for it. Admittedly not the typical definition of fun but the point is nobody even thought to guess close to how much it actually was. Now don’t get me wrong for their low end phones Xiaomi does use every trick in the book to get the price to where it is they use ads in the software, they use bloat ware they use early bird pricing. I don’t love these practices and of course it’s going to feel abhorrent stepping down to that from a thousand dollar flagship but the thing that I do have to hand to Xiaomi is that unlike other enthusiast brands. They’ve stayed in the same lane. They’re still out here in 2021 cramming every possible spec into $200 phones and I think that as a budget conscious consumer there’s few companies who give you better value and if there’s any doubt about this all you have to do is look at the resale market.

Unless something is particularly limited in stock the resale market is a very good gauge of how much value a product actually provides when you strip away all the brand power and marketing and if you’ve ever tried to sell a Samsung phone, you might well have been left with a bitter taste in the mouth when you realize just how much value you’ve lost. Just for example let’s take the Samsung galaxy A52 and the Xiaomi Redmi note 10 pro. Both 2021 phones but the Samsung was launched at $400 Xiaomi at $270. But now a quick search on eBay finds these two devices selling for almost exactly the same amount. Xiaomi does make expensive phones. They’ve got that mi 11 ultra and that me mix fold which are basically the same prices as Samsung’s counterparts and you’d be right but the way that Xiaomi’s managed to have those while still serving insane value in the budget and mid-range segments is through sub-brands. See the issue that you can tell Samsung has is that it’s fighting against itself. Some part of Samsung is aware that if they make their mid-range phones too good. Then they’re going to be so similar to their flagship phones that they’re just going to cannibalize their own sales.

So, Samsung’s phones at $400 or below are honestly just not competitive but by using sub brands like POCO and Redmi, Xiaomi is still able to target these more budget conscious segments. They’re still able to go all out and actually make these as feature and as spec rich as they want to but still keep enough differentiation such that there’s still room for their luxury me flagship phones. Sub brands are what allow Xiaomi to sell a nearly flagship for $400 and then an actual flagship for $1200 without looking like they’re being inconsistent or contradictory. Whereas it might well be an issue for Samsung .it’s not a revolutionary idea that better value is generally more appealing for customers but a few things have happened recently which have quite quickly made this value more important than ever for starters coronavirus. many people haven’t been able to work, many people having to take time off to look after themselves or others I’ve seen all sorts of small businesses collapsing around me and in financially difficult times companies that focus on high price to performance ratios are the ones that succeed but on top of this being stuck at home people have very quickly transitioned to online shopping and it’s like the stars of a line for Xiaomi because remember they are built around being digital first.

See when an average consumer is buying a phone online, they’re looking at very different things to when they’re buying a phone in a store. It’s much less about how it feels in the hand and the perceived quality from how spaced out your products are, it’s much more about the measurable specs of the phone compared to others. Does this have more battery capacity than a Samsung? Does it have a higher refresh rate than an iPhone and in this arena where all the info is right there in front of you on a sheet Xiaomi’s phones just make sense. This is what they’re built for.

It’s something I hear a lot of here in the UK aside from complaints about the weather is that I can either get an apple or I can get a Samsung. Samsung has such a strong brand that there’s a lot of people who don’t even realize that there are other android phones but the more we move to online shopping the more I think that consumers are going to start to be informed the more reviews. They’ll read the more tech videos they’ll watch. The more they’ll be able to put aside any preconceptions, they have about brands and just buy whatever the best value product is every company makes good stuff and bad stuff and the internet allows people to very quickly pick the best products from each one.

So providing Xiaomi keeps making good products the fact that their brand name is less popular. I think is going to matter less and less. I mean just look at the most subscribed tech YouTube channels now versus 10 years ago that’s millions upon millions of people who might have previously thought oh my past phone was a Samsung I’ll just get another Samsung who might now think actually what if I consider an Oppo or a vivo or a Xiaomi. We’ve had a few one-on-ones about the collapse of Huawei and how there were two primary contenders who could potentially fill the void that they left behind. I expected Samsung to be the ones to do it given that they’re the only non-Chinese major player and that the US’s distrust of china is what caused Huawei’s collapse. But actually, it was Xiaomi. This focus on value at a time where people really needed it. This readiness for the switch to online purchasing as well as how they’ve kept their team small and agile meant that as soon as the opportunity came and Huawei started retreating Xiaomi was sprinting before Samsung even started walking scooping up all these extra customers as they went. But you want to know what links all of this together in a way Xiaomi secret weapon to put it bluntly Xiaomi has its fingers in a lot of pies.

See Xiaomi makes sure that these are good products in their own right. They actually tried to make each one the best value option within that category and the reason they’re often able to do this is because unlike a lot of the companies that they’ll be up against in those segments, Xiaomi doesn’t need to make profit from them. Because all they serve as is entry points into the Xiaomi ecosystem. They’ve managed to create this enormous selection of genuinely high quality gadgets all with a consistent aesthetic that reinforces you’re using a Xiaomi product and it makes you want to get more Xiaomi products all with a surprisingly affordable price.

I’m guilty too on the rare occasion that I leave the house on a scooter. I use a Xiaomi scooter if I want to hoover my downstairs floors. I use a Xiaomi vacuum cleaner and so when looking for future household gadgets, some part of me naturally would prefer it to be Xiaomi branded. Instead of I don’t know a melee or a Philips. It’s not like Samsung isn’t trying. Their phones work seamlessly with their TV’s and their monitors. They’re trying to make strategic partnerships with Google and Microsoft to actively keep Xiaomi out. They’ve even experimented with matching Xiaomi on price by making the ultra-affordable galaxy f series of phones. But the facts speak for themselves Samsung’s attachment rate is falling.

Just two years ago almost 86 of Samsung users said they would also upgrade to a Samsung. Now that number’s only 74. I do still think that Samsung has more brand value than Xiaomi. I think we’re still at a stage where

Realme GT Explorer Master Key Features | 2021 |

Hey what’s up guys will here for Hallofly? Realme has come out with a phone for the travellers among us. The Realme GT explorer master edition with a design inspired by luggage believe it or not. let’s see what it’s all about in this article.

The Reame GT explorer master edition kind of a mouthful brings a luxury type of design. Which is a contrast from the loud and shiny builds we usually see from this manufacturer. We have both the snow color scheme and the suitcase grey.

The grey model is the more interesting one. It’s made from vegan leather with 3d striped accents worked into the material and it’s both grippy and soft to the touch. It was designed by naoto fukusawa to resemble a travel suitcase and you even get his signature here. On the front is a 6.55 inch Samsung Amoled protected by gorilla glass 5 with a 1080p resolution and a super-fast 120 Hz refresh rate. It even curved at the edges for style and brings both a whopping 480 hertz touch sampling rate for extra responsiveness and an under display fingerprint reader.

If you are looking for Realme GT Master Explorer Edition | Review Spec 2021 |

You also get a pair of stereo speakers with Dolby atmos support to flesh out your media experience. The Realme GT explorer masters interface is Realme UI 2.0 based on android 11 and everything seems super smooth. Thanks to not only the fast refresh rate and touch sampling rate but also the flagship grade chipset. You get a snapdragon 875G which offers both great performance and 5G connectivity. There’s also a GT performance mode that offers a boost for those heavier games and for longer gaming sessions the thermal should be good too. Thanks to a vapour chamber cooling system.

Powering the device is a 4500 milliamp hour battery and you get superfast 65 watt flash charging too. Realme claims that you can charge from zero to 100 in just a little over half an hour.

Finally the explorer master has three cameras on the back. A 50 megapixel quad bay or main cam with ois. A 16 megapixel ultra-wide angle cam and a 2 megapixel macro camera. It’s quite a different setup from what you get on the regular Realme GT. So we’re curious about the quality here. But one new feature is a street photography mode which offers some extra functions including a suite of filters. So there you have it guys if you’re looking for a phone to match your travel accessories. The explorer master could be worth looking into and the specs look pretty nice too. Especially for a mid-range. Let us know what you guys think.

Top 10 Android Apps Must Have

Hi guys. Today I will discuss on the top 10 android app for the month of august 2021. A couple of really cool applications for me to share with you guys. Without any further ado let’s get started.

Spike- The first app on the list goes by the name of Spike. The number of times that I have used this application since then proves how truly useful it is. Let’s cut to the chase what does spike do and why should you download it? Well to put it simply. It makes your email experience super, simple and easy. Spike combines the best of messenger and email meaning your long and rather primitive email chains are now basically long form texts making your email experience much better. Other than that spike also intelligently enables something called the priority inbox, which has been absolutely life-saving for me. This mode basically makes you see really important emails first while the other social and promotional notifications and mails are moved to the other section for later use. Spike also eliminates the use of repeating headers, signatures and threads which basically make email harder to read and for the professionals out there, the beauty of spike lies in the fact that people who do not use spike, will still see your email the same way with all the titles and signatures and etc. There’s also a wonderful note section, where you can create, edit and share dynamic notes without ever leaving your inbox in real time and collaborate live with your teammates. There is also a chat bar wherein you can bounce ideas without completely leaving the note. A new update has also added the ability to make voice and video calls completely within spike taking things to an absolutely amazing next level. Honestly spike has been the email replacement application that I needed and I didn’t even know about it and now that I do. I use it on every device that I own. I would highly recommend this application to anybody who uses a lot of mail in their day-to-day life.

Minimalist productivity launcher- The second application on the list goes by the name of minimalist productivity launcher and this as the name suggests is a minimal launcher which puts productivity at first and everything else comes second. You can select from a variety of different color themes, you can also select fonts that I really enjoy. This seems to be the only extreme minimal launcher that lets you choose all of this and of course you have the app drawer on the right side and on the main screen. You have the date as well as the time. I really like the way the application looks and the fact that it’s completely free to download and to try without any ads. I really like it.

Almighty volume keys- Next up guys on the list we’ve got an application called almighty volume keys which is basically a volume key remapper, meaning you can customize what your volume key actions do when you press them across three different sections. Number one is when your volume keys are idle so when no media is playing, you can select a variety of things that you can do when you press the up volume key, the down volume key or even action such as an up up or a down down key. There is also another section where you can do the same thing when media is playing. It’s really cool and of course last but not the least there’s also a section of sound recording that is what the volume keys do when you’re already recording some audio using the sound recorder app. I think this is really cool never seen something like it before and once again it’s completely free. All it requires is your accessibility setting option. Once you turn that on you’re good to use this application.

IOS widgets- All right guys next up we’ve got another customization application and this goes by the name of IOS widgets. Guys if you shifted from iPhone to android and if you just want IOS widgets once again on your android home screen. Whether it is because it helps you to you know have an easier experience shifting to another OS or you’re a person who just enjoys having IOS widgets on your phone. Hey it’s android. You can do that this application lets you do that pretty flawlessly. You install the application you get a lot of widgets. You get analog digital clocks, a battery widget, a calendar widget, weather photos you name it and the best part is the application also supports both the dark as well as the light versions of these particular widgets. So you can set them on your home screen. All you have to do is click and hold on an empty space then select widgets and go down to IOS widgets. Select the type of theme that you want and hit on add widget and boom. The widget will be added on your home screen. You can resize it very easily from here the process is super seamless and I really enjoy this application.

Shut up- All right guys next up we’ve got an application called shut up and while the app might be a little aggressive from the get go when you hear the name of it. This is basically a really cool app which lets you silence your phone at any time by using either a shortcut of the application or through a quick setting in your status bar. It’s really cool once. You turn the app on, give it the permissions that it needs. You can go down to your shortcuts and you can add the shut up shortcut over here. Clicking on that will immediately silence the device or you can also add a custom tile on your status bar. Once you install the application that option also pops up in your status bar. You can use that to also silence your device and within the application, once you open it up you can also go ahead and select the streams from which you want to silence the audio. So this is anywhere from alarms, music, notifications, you know your phone dials your system sounds etc. It’s really cool does what it says super effectively and I really like it.

Spaghetti wallpapers- All right guys next up. We’ve got a brilliant wallpaper application which goes by the name of spaghetti wallpapers. Now this application has a lot of really cool fluid, you know abstract wallpapers that I’ve really started to enjoy. The app is paid and it’s also a brand new app. The app has a list of a lot of very beautiful fluid wallpapers. As you guys can see this is literally a heaven for anybody who likes to customize their android phone and this is just an application that lets you do that so well. It’s really great. It’s super amazing. Definitely check it out.

Aristobrat- Next up guys, we’ve got a men’s fashion clothing application by the name of aristobrat now. As far as I know this is a company founded in Bangalore. It’s a start up that provides some really good quality shirts and t-shirts for the modern man here in 2021. I really like the application and other than the application I really like the products that they are making especially for the prices. They’re super affordable when they come to high quality shirts. If you like shirts and t-shirts and you know clean minimal stuff to wear. This is the one to get. Coming back to the application itself as you can see the app has a pretty damn good UI. Everything has its own place, everything looks very good, it’s very fluid there’s no clutter and honestly a good brand that makes great clothes along with a pretty damn usable app is something that is very rare to come across these days.

Old roll- Next up guys, we’ve got an application called old roll and if you’re a fan of the film look or if you’re a fan of historically amazing cameras from the 60s, 70s and 80s, this is going to be an application that will really amaze you. Basically this is an app that emulates a realistic analog cameras on your phone with the free version you only get two cameras but I love them nonetheless. you can pay for the pro version to get other cameras but over here you’ve got classic m, the 503 cw, a polaroid filter a disposable toy f camera and basically all of these cameras have certain vintage looks that they apply when you click the photo using this and not only do I really like the UI of the entire aesthetic of the entire app. You know the shutter as well as the camera models that they have made that is also really cool and the effects are actually good effects. They are not you know some something as easy as a retrica or just a filter slapped on top of it. It looks good, it functions well. I feel like you could really create a lot of good pictures with this if you have a good phone camera and a great sense of creating good photos. It’s really nice. I really like it. It’s completely free as I said. You get two cameras but I’ve just used two of them and they’ve seemed completely fine to me.

Black- Next up guys we’ve got a game called black and honestly this is a puzzle game that has a beautiful soundtrack behind it as well as a really nice aesthetic behind it. Now the main point of this application or game rather is to completely turn the screen to black. You’ll have to do different things there are no hints. In case you don’t know how to solve it but I would prefer if you would spend a little more time and see what the game has to offer because I really like it. Each level has its own logic and you know this is just a very cool game to pass time. It is already very famous has more than 42 000 downloads and reviews but once again I found out about it this time and I would love for you guys to try it out too.

Spotify tools- Last but definitely not the least guys we’ve got an application called Spotify tools. For Spotify and as the name suggests this provides additional tools to the Spotify app. So if you use Spotify to listen to your music like I do. This is going to be an application that will take all of those features and add more features taking it to the next level. Now couple of main features over here is that you can search quickly for an artist or song in all of your Spotify’s library and playlist. You can start Spotify playback on new Bluetooth connections. There’s also a section called song monitoring. Which is basically a place where it keeps track of your Spotify listening history for your artists and for your tracks. as you can see if you go to the song monitoring section you’ll be able to see your recent tracks you’ll be able to analyse your listening habits and it’s really cool the amount of detail that this app goes into and how much functionality it improves for you know the Spotify application .you can get lyrics in the songs details .there’s other features like downloading the artist as well as the album art. You can import your listening activity from your Spotify account. You can copy songs from one playlist to the other the apps UI is pretty okayish, I wouldn’t give it 10 out of 10 because I feel like it could have been made a lot cleaner. But the features that it offers really helps any Spotify fanatic out there. So I think you will really enjoy it be sure to check it out.

Well guys. That is pretty much it for today’s article. Hope you guys really enjoyed the applications explained here. If you guys did enjoy it a like would be amazing.

MI Mix 4
MI Mix 4 Review

The Xiaomi MI Mix 4 is finally here after waiting almost 3 years. Since the previous Mix device and being that it has first released. Here in china, I have managed to snap one up quite quickly that being said the prices. Here is the full detail price – 8GB+128GB- $769/ ₹57249, 8GB+256GB- $818/ ₹60699, 12GB+256GB- $895/ ₹66399 and 1GB+512GB- $972/ ₹72099. A global launch has yet to be announced and may very well not happen at all even though a global launch is uncertain at this point in time. The Xiaomi mi Mix 4 is a huge revolution in the smartphone industry. Not only it is the world’s first phone to house an overclocked snapdragon 8 plus chipset but it’s Xiaomi’s first mass-produced smartphone to incorporate an in-display selfie camera and possibly the first device in the world to actually do it impressively well. Thanks to a micro diamond pixel pattern display, covering the selfie camera, paired with transparent wiring and 400 pixels per inch matching the rest of the display. the me Mix 4 may very well be cheaper than the  MI 11 ultra but does a couple tricks up its sleeve as well as the in-display camera tech justify its  drawbacks. Let’s start the initial review of the Xiaomi MI Mix 4.

Of course we get a bunch of nifty goodies in the box including a USB type-c cable. unfortunately only  2.0 speeds and we do have a 4 500 milliamp hour  battery 120 watt wide charging which does come  paired in the box and 50 watt wireless charging .

The Xiaomi MI Mix 4 comes in 3 different color variants that being shadow gray, black or white and all three of them are coated in a wonderful ceramic, which wraps all the way to the display. It looks absolutely phenomenal but it does take away some of its flair, when you do indeed slap on that silicon case which comes paired in the box.  A premium device with a relatively cheap case. Nevertheless it looks pretty stunning I wish it was matte however.

If you are looking for Oneplus 9 and Oneplus 9 Pro review : Click Here

We do have a snapdragon 8 plus CPU. Under the hood which is the first seen in any smartphone in the world to date LP DDR5 ram, UFS 3.1 storage IP53 dust and splash protection, which is a step down from the class leading MI 11 ultras IP68 dust and water protection. All three color variants do come with a ceramic back which wraps to the display and the display is protected by gorilla glass vectors. It is eight millimeters thick and just 225 grams in weight. The Mix 4 is certainly no slouch when it comes to optics.

We get a 12 millimeter ultra-wide snapper which is indeed 13 megapixels, a 24 millimeter main sensor which is indeed a 108 megapixel iso cell HMX sensor. Alongside those two cameras is 120 millimeter periscope telephoto lens. It is stacked at 8 megapixels with an aperture off 4.1 and optical image stabilization as well and when comparing side by side to the MI 11 ultra on the right hand side, the MI Mix 4 lacks brightness in the ultra-wide shots when using the raw 108 megapixel mode once again is a lot dimmer compared to the MI 11 ultra when it comes to binning down. It only goes to 27 megapixels instead of 12.5, as  we see on the m11 ultra and the biggest difference over here the most noticeable is the five times  optical zoom being a hell of a lot better on the M11 ultra when it comes to portrait shots. However I do favor the MI Mix 4. The cameras might not be as impressive as the MI 11 ultras but I have yet to deep dive into this camera system.

On the right hand side of the device, we have a power button as well as a volume rocket at the top. We have an IR blaster and a top speaker hole and at the bottom we have a dual sim 5G standby tray over here. No expandable storage options available but we do have a water resistant seal which is good to see. USB 2.0 at the bottom as well as the first homocotton audio speaker at the bottom. The second one is in the earpiece and that little hole that we saw at the top earlier there is an in-display selfie camera here and for some strange reason there is a cutout in the screen protector for it which is very strange.

We’ll get to the full display. Thanks to the micro diamond pixel pattern 400 ppi screen over the camera to ensure great clarity and reduce a haze effect. When I speak about haze effect, a good example is over here with last year’s ZTE accent 20 definitely impressive that it was the worlds very first mass-produced smartphone to have an in-display camera but it implemented pretty poorly. Since you can see all the pixelated pixels on the screen and as you can see without a whole punch in the top left or center corner of the screen, it looks a hell of a lot cleaner than that of the MI 11 ultra both. The MI Mix 4 and MI 11 ultra-compared with a 27 millimeter 20 megapixel selfie snapper.

If you are looking for Realme GT Master Explorer Edition : Click Here

However of course the Mix fours one is hidden pretty well, when it comes to photo quality using the selfie cam. The MI Mix force 20 megapixel camera is pretty much on par with the M11 ultra less a hell of a lot of detail and it’s a little more washed out. When you switch over to portrait  mode, it doesn’t look half as good as that on the MI 11 ultra but you’ve got to remember that this  is still very new tech and it is a hell of a lot better than we saw with the ZTE accent 20  last year. The MI 4 selfie camera using video is capped at 1080p 30fps where the MI 11 ultra can go all the way up to 60fps at the same resolution and you can see a difference in detail. This is not because of the fps but this is because there’s an actual screen covering the selfie cam on the Mix 4 and I did notice that there is a micro diamond pixel pattern effect. Thanks to that pattern covering the selfie camera but it only seems to be visible when very bright light enters the lens.

The pictures might not be the best but the display certainly is great. We have a 6.67 inch Amoled 20 by 9 aspect ratio curve display. It is full HD plus. We have 1 billion colors over here, 1300 nits of max brightness 120 hertz refresh rates and 480Hz touch sampling rates and while those specs sound impressive when standing on its own. The MI 11 ultra has even more impressive screen specs. We’re talking a larger screen a high resolution with up to WQHD plus and a higher brightness of a thousand seven hundred notes. But the selfie camera on the M11 ultra is very much visible. Another thing worth mentioning is that here is no adaptive refresh rate on this panel as we’ve seen with many recent Xiaomi devices though the 120Hz is nice and smooth to use on the fly. The Xiaomi MI Mix 4 is an incredible phone so far I cannot wait to deep dive into it in my full review. It is definitely a stunning device thanks to the ceramic coating wrapping all the way to the front of the screen. But it does have some drawbacks when compared to the MI 11 ultra.

Realme GT master explorer edition

Realme GT master explorer edition

Earlier on this year Realme released a standalone Realme GT. If the name doesn’t give it away already, Realme designed the phone to look much like a racing car. Realme have just now introduced two new additions to the family. Today we’ll be focusing on the top of the line version known simply as the Realme GT master explorer edition. Which sets aside the racing car theme design in favour of a luxurious vegan, leather suitcase finish. The company has now replaced the snapdragon AAA chipset for a slightly less performing CPU, the snapdragon 870 in order to add an aluminium frame a curved display and a flagship worthy IMX 766 main camera sensor. All while keeping the device at the same great price is the performance sacrifice worth it for an improved design, build display and camera boost. Let’s find out in my extremely detailed full review of the Realme GT master explorer edition.

Design of Realme GT master explorer edition-

The GT master explorer edition comes in a voyager grey or voyager apricot. Being the vegan leather finish you can also pick them up in glass finishes as well though I especially like this grey finished leather back. We get a 4500 milliamp hour battery under the hood alongside a 65 watt super dot wired charger inside the box. Unfortunately no wireless charging and we do have gorilla glass front vegan leather or glass back and of course an aluminium frame wrapping around it. The back looks fantastic though I’m pretty sure you’re going to be getting some chafes in the near future. The included case is silicon not leather. Just letting you guys know we do have a power button on the right hand side, a split volume rocker on the left hand side and we have a dual sim 5g standby tray. There is a water resistant seal very strange USB 2.0 charging port as well as two dual speakers paired with Dolby atmos. The camera bump at the back isn’t that big pretty much on par with the Oneplus 9 pro and a lot smaller than the likes of other smartphones around which means that the camera wobble on a flat surface is very manageable pretty minimal. In terms of the back designs, I actually think the real me GT master explorer edition stands out a hell of a lot more than the rest of these expensive devices and it weighs just 183.5 grams and it’s just eight millimetres thick depending on the version that you get.

Display of Realme GT master explorer edition-

The back design looks absolutely phenomenal but what about the display. Well we are welcome to a 6.5 inch super Amoled 20:9 aspect ratio curved display. It is full HD plus it has a DCI P3 rating of 100 with HRD 10 plus. 1100 nits max brightness, 120 hertz refresh rates and 480 hertz a touch sampling rate it looks darn fancy even when up close unfortunately no QHD plus over here. This time around with a slightly smaller panel when compared to the competitors. Though the curves on the side are just as minimal as we’ve seen on recent flagship smartphones. The colors do certainly pop even when up close and the color accuracy is on par with even more expensive smartphones out there and the white balance is pretty great too we also have an incredible 1100 units peak brightness which is almost right up there with the best of the best and certainly better and higher than more flagship budget friendly smartphones. Around of course we do have the camera punctual over there like I mentioned no WQHD plus as we see on true flagship smartphones and we do have a 120 hertz refresh rates though not 144Hz as we’ve seen on other smartphones around. 120 hertz for me is still pretty much a sweet spot even 90 would have been okay in my books. It looks phenomenal. It feels so darn smooth and just to let you guys know yes I did record this in slow motion. The biggest drawback of this 120 hertz panel is the fact that it doesn’t have an adaptive refresh rate. It can only automatically detect whether you’re using a 60 or 120 hertz app. We can of course increase the brightness a change the eye comfort level with a warmer or cooler screen. We can also change the screen color modes though not as intense as we’ve seen on other smartphones. We also have image enhancers. Though they are limited to only certain apps here in china and of course we do have dark mode over here which gives you nice deep blacks and you can set it to turn on whenever you’d like automatically. We do have an enhanced medium and gentle option something that I wish we would see on more phones. Third-party apps some of them do work with it. First party apps of course all of them work with dark mode though the notification tray is pretty much grey not really black even when you’re using the enhanced version. We do have an always on display here and just like we see in opposed color OS. We can create custom patterns which are just a joy to do. Yes it may seem pretty gimmicky but once you get it done you really do feel like a bit of an artist every time you go ahead to unlock your device. It looks fantastic and there are a couple options that you can customize with it including the date and time so on and so forth of course all your notifications as well but I’m a simple guy I prefer the more simplified always on displays we do have an optical in display fingerprint sensor and it’s pretty much on par with the Oneplus 9 pro and the Oppo find x3 pro.

Camera of Realme GT master explorer edition-

Since they use the same one, it’s had faster than the ZTE XN30 ultra and it is almost on par with the red magic 6R now and then we do have 2D face unlock. It utilizes the selfie camera and when comparing it to other devices using the same 2D face unlock. It’s pretty much once again on par with that from Oppo and from Oneplus because they’re also made by the same company that being BBK electronics and the red magic is a tad quicker this time compared to the Realme device. Of course that selfie cam can be used for more than just unlocking your phone. We do have a 32 megapixel selfie snapper and it looks great even when in portrait mode. Taking selfies at night don’t come out too great even when using the dedicated night mode feature. The flash looks way too overblown for. The back cams we do have a 14 millimetre ultra-wide sensor, which is 16 megapixels. We also have a 24 millimetre main sensor which is the 50 megapixel Sony iMac 766 sensor and we have a 2 megapixel macro sensor. Unfortunately no telephoto this time around. The ultra-wide picks actually come out very oversaturated. The main 50 megapixel looks great switching to AI and using 41 pixel binning to get a 12.5 megapixel shot looks decent. We have zoom but only digital, it can go up to 20 times zoom. Anything past I would say five times zoom isn’t the best but ten times is still bearable, 20 is kind of unusable if you ask me and we do have the macro sensor of course that two megapixel useless thing at the back, if you do use it. It comes out just fine and we can also use portrait mode but once again no telephoto over here. So it’s just using a digital AI, which still doesn’t look too bad. We have 1080p at 30fps ultra wide but 30 fps is the max fps that we can get with ultra-wide and 1080p is the max resolution that we can use when using ultra wide. We do have 4K 60fps, which is the max there is no ak this time around. This is the main sensor of course with optical image stabilization. Once again 1080p 60fps using the main camera looks pretty decent not as detailed as 4K as you would expect but nice and smooth over here too. We also have an option to use 1080p at 30fps using AI highlight video but it is capped at 30fps and 1080p. It really does make colors pop but once again a little over saturated for my liking. We do also have a bokeh video effect mode, which keeps edge detection on points if you ask me. It looks pretty decent but once again capped at 1080p 30fps. We do have ultra-steady and yes I am swaying when it is on and I’m swaying when max is on but it just doesn’t show this way because it is so darn good. We do have 1080p at 24 frames per second very strange ultra-wide when recording at night. It tends to drop down the frames in order to brighten up the video 4K 60fps doesn’t drop the frames over there same thing doesn’t drop the frames with 1080p doesn’t look too bad. The nice thing though is that we do have a highlight video which really does make a difference at night making things a lot brighter but it does take away in terms of image quality. Talking about image quality ultra-wide at night doesn’t look the best but the night mode feature makes a huge difference doesn’t make as much of a difference with the bin 12.5 megapixel main shots but it still makes a bit of a difference keeping the detail intact and when zooming in night mode on completely washes out the detail but does pop out all the colors same thing with five times digital zoom and of course a 10 times as well things look a little too dull when night mode is off and it really does make it pop with night mode on but you lose a lot of quality. We have 20 times zoom max but unfortunately no night mode option for that.

Software of Realme GT master explorer edition-

We do have real me UR 2.0 skinned over android 11. It is literally the exact same. If you are used to an opera phone running color OS 11. The software is nice clean easy to use and yes we do have a fully-fledged Google services on here. So no need to worry about that. With all the split screen and all that jazz that you’ve come to know and love from Oppo’s color software packed in to Realme UI 2.0 with mini window. So on and so forth, we also have smart sidebar which we’ve seen in Oppo’s software which is a nifty little multitasking gesture tool pulled in from the side and yes the Holy Grail personalization options where we can change themes as well as wallpapers. We can also go into our gallery and we can customize a wallpaper but it only really changes the colors keeps the shapes the same for all wallpapers you try to do this with. We also can customize our always on display of course and all the system icons the way that you’d like as well as your fingerprint animation and your colors of your phone as well as your text and it just goes on and your notification draw of course you can change the shapes and icons of that and of course you can also have an edge lighting wrapping around your phone when you get a notification. The haptics are very much on point with the best phones around and in terms of speakers.

Gaming performance of Realme GT master explorer edition-

Ah want some more when it comes to gaming. We do have the same game space software that we see in opera devices with low power mode balance mode and pro gamer mode in oppo. We usually see something called competitor mode. It is nice and simple. There are a couple things that you can do but it is limited to only certain games such as the 4d vibration. Which is available over here and jumping into ganshin impact over here to showcase the on display menu that you can pull in from the side. It looks pretty decent. It shows you fps over there. It is not always on and you can change things like your touch optimization and go into game focus mode. There’s not too much about it but it’s a nice nifty thing if you want it, you don’t have to have it enabled. Going into our first game here against an impact with the highest possible. Graphics settings as well as the max fps the game is capped at 60 fps. So no phone can go above 60 fps. No matter the refresh rate of the panel and we’re getting between 41 and 52 fps on the snapdragon 870 powered Realme GT master explorer edition. Which isn’t too bad, if you know anything about this game. You know how graphic demanding it is. It is literally the benchmark for all gaming smartphones going down next game over here PUBG mobile with HDR graphics and extreme fps. Unfortunately we don’t have a 90 fps option on smooth graphics even when trying to use a tool to get it there. It’s not available on the phone yet. I’m sure it will come later on. Though we are getting a rock steady 60 fps and we’re also getting 60 fps in bullet force nice and stable here though the game has an unlimited frame rate cap. So the Realme should be hitting 120 fps but it is not hopefully. This gets changed with a future software updates of the phone.

Battery performance of Realme GT master explorer edition-

Moving on to benchmarks now super excited for this one thanks to that snapdragon 870 processing chip. We do have 8 gigs of ram though you can use ram expansion to use the rom of the phone to get an extra 5 gigs bringing it up to 13 gigs which is pretty impressive. Of course we are going to be using the 88 battery as a marker at the start we’ll compare it at the end and get a milliamp hour per minute reading as well as measure the temperature at the start of the test and the end of the test we’re running through and two to version nine over here geekbench version five and then last but not least we’re going into 3D mark wildlife version 2.2 getting to battery drain results. The phone drained by nine percent at a rate of 25.3 milliamp hours per minute and the temperature is a bit hotter as well adding 22.1 degrees in celsius when it comes to ANTUTU version nine. It is right up there just underneath the snapdragon triple eight average with the regular Realme master edition which is paired with a snapdragon 778G chipset way down there at the bottom. When it comes to geekbench version five, it actually scored pretty decently in the single core segments with a thousand and nineteen points but the multi-core is even worse than the standard Realme master edition the vanilla edition that is running a subpar 778 g chipset which had a higher multi-core score which is strange to say the least.

Conclusion-

The Realme GT master explorer edition is certainly a master craft designed smartphone thanks to its gorgeous vegan leather suitcase designed finish. Needless to say, the design has improved by landslide the camera performance has also been dramatically boosted. Thanks to the flagship level Sony IMX 766 sensor. However I am slightly disappointed in the lack of a telephoto lens which we still saw back in the days of the Realme X2 pro. After unlocking the device with its snappy under display fingerprint sensor, we are welcomed to a bright and vibrant curved Amoled display which makes the clean Realme UR 2.0 software skin truly stand out and the massive customization options are certainly the cherry on top. The gaming software is simple and easy to use and when paired with the silky smooth 120Hz refresh rate snapdragon 870 chipset lpddr5 ram and UFS 3.1 storage, games like an absolute champion most of the time. However the master explorer edition is not alone in the race for best overall smartphone of 2021. The Oneplus 9 pro and Oppo find X3 pro both have QHD displays improved camera systems with telephoto sensors and an IP68 water and dust certification but they both cost a hell of a lot more money than the GT master explorer edition and while the ZTE accent 30 ultra-also has a better camera setup and the red magic 6r actually has physical gaming triggers. Neither of them can match up to just how much bang for buck you get with the real me GT master explorer edition and that is why I am happy to say that yes the improved design build quality display and main camera sensor far outweigh the fact that the Realme GT master explorer edition makes use of a snapdragon 870 instead of an 888 chipset which leads me to think that this may very well be the best all-round smartphone of the year thus far.

Oneplus 9 and Oneplus 9 pro Camera | Best value phones in 2021 | Review Spec Price |

Oneplus 9 and Oneplus 9 pro might just be the best value phones in 2021.

Let’s get into it 10 out of 10 presentation box. I gotta say this thing was so heavy that I would have only been half surprised if it was just filled with rocks but no as soon as you open it. This enormous spaceman poster reveals itself this will make more sense later and then we have the oneplus 9 and oneplus 9 pro. There’s also a draw underneath which just shows a couple of the cases you can get the first being carbon fiber which in two hours I think really works in terms of texture. But then there’s also a classic oneplus sandstone one which by comparison just feels a little scratchy plus a 50 watt wireless charger.

Yeah it’s a chunky bit of kit but at the same time not many phones can wirelessly charge at 50 watts. So it’s impressive but all that stuff’s just a bit of fun. The only thing that really matters here is the retail boxes what you get. If you buy one of these, so this is the oneplus 9 you get a little manual up top. There’s the phone and then apart from earphones. Which oneplus has never given it’s the full package. You get a clear case with a bit of texture a red USB-C cable and a 65 watt charger and then we’ve got the pro which is a very similar package. So we won’t do the whole thing again but the one difference is that instead of clear with the pro, you get a matte opaque case.

Oneplus 9 and Oneplus 9 pro Price- Okay here’s the thing with oneplus for the last five years they’ve just been extremely easy and cheaper phones than the competitor. They’ve still had top-end specs and they run on software that’s both slick and intuitive for non-techies but also with enough depth for people who are looking for it and that mentality hasn’t changed this time around. Like bearing in mind that the oneplus 9 starts at 629 pounds. Here in the UK which makes it about $20 cheaper than Samsung’s base S21.

Oneplus 9 and Oneplus 9 pro Processor- Getting a lot of stuff here like both the 9 and the 9 pro have a snapdragon 888 chipset with performance that actually comes out slightly higher than that of a galaxy s21 ultra in an isolated test but like that phone does also fall with persistent usage.

Oneplus 9 and Oneplus 9 pro Display and battery charging- They both got 120 hertz fluid amoled displays dual stereo speakers which I’d give like an a minus two they’re not the best but they’re also definitely not the worst 4 500 million power batteries wireless charging plus wireless reverse charging and warp charge 65 t which is 65 watt charging but optimized to be able to fully charge from 1 to 100 in 29 minutes. I was a bit confused though why they were giving me a 1 to 100 figure. So I tested it myself and if you’re charging from 0 to 100 which is probably the more likely scenario it’s more like 33 minutes still very rapid though and then we’ve got the 9 pro which for 829 has a few things that separate it from the normal nine. I’ll say a few things it’s actually one of the biggest jumps I’ve ever seen between a pro and a non-pro phone so 15 watt wireless charging on the 9 becomes 50 watt.

If you rare looking for Nothing Ear 1 : Click here

The pro has an official ip68 rating and aluminum on the sides instead of well glorified plastic it’s got a better display the flat 1080p panel becomes a brighter 1440p 10-bit color curved adaptive panel which as you probably know at this stage can scale its refresh rate down based on the app you’re in to save a bit of battery. I know some people don’t like curved screens but I do think in this case it helps the phone to look a bit more premium whilst also making gestures a little easier on the fingers.

Oneplus 9 and oneplus 9 pro Camera- However it does have slightly worse viewing angles than the normal 9 but it’s the cameras to the pro has a next generation main sensor capable of shooting 4k video at 120 fps versus 60 and also the addition of an optical zoom camera on the back a laser autofocus module on top and an extra microphone which can help to reduce background noise when you’re picking up vocals. So that’s a lot in fact both these phones they’ve got a grand spec sheet and they’re so fast that they almost accustom you to everything happening at the snap of a finger but for the most part we’ve seen this before 120 refresh rates are kind of an industry standard at this point 65 watt charging is old news we’ve seen even bigger camera sensors than these and is it just me or does this oneplus 9 pro display look like a 100 carbon copy of the Oppo find x3 pro display that I looked at a few weeks ago that was rhetorical I’m telling you.

They are basically the same but that’s okay if you can deliver what your competitors are doing for less money then that’s a good thing and to be honest that’s probably better for most consumers than just adding a load of features in on top just for the sake of it plus it’s not like you’re just getting the basic shell of a phone with some good specs these have character I wouldn’t say they look as premium and confident as the S21 ultra but there’s not a huge gap the camera lenses are well defined everything’s wrapped in a slick chrome accent to make each component feel purposeful and the general colors on these phones are pleasant.

It’s probably the right word so every option on the nine and the nine pro is inspired by calm which gives them these really soft color palettes that while they’re probably not exciting enough to elicit a change in underwear. They do feel distinct like this one at its core is lilac but you can also see pinks you can see reds, you can see yellows and both of these phones have a very subtle gradient. They’re like mirrors at the bottom which it kind of fog up as you go higher. I would say it’s a refreshing idea if it weren’t for the fact that they were covered in fingerprints five seconds after unboxing them. Thanks for that. I strongly recommend the matte options if you’re considering going caseless but you get the idea oneplus has spent years building this reputation of creating high end on an upper mid-range budget and I mean this is a compliment when I say that the nine and the nine pro haven’t really strayed from that apart from one thing Hasselblad branded camera systems.

Let me be very clear about this Hasselblad is a high-end camera brand we’re talking the kind of company who makes fifty thousand dollar cameras, ten thousand dollar lenses and even 100 cables and so it kind of seems like a weird match for a company, whose main selling point is price but I think it’s an indication that oneplus wants to change that over the next few years they want to become their own standalone premium brand with their own standalone premium prices but that doesn’t change the fact that for now these are affordable. These are pretty much the most affordable pieces of tech you can get with the Hasselblad brand name on them.

So it’s not surprising that oneplus is slapping that name everywhere all these space-themed teasers. The phones had the astronaut on the box. Those are referencing Hasselblad and how Hasselblads were the first cameras to be taken to the moon. You’ll see Hasselblad on the retail box. The camera app itself is inspired by Hasselblad design. It’s inscribed on the back of every phone. It was even on the instruction manual and I will give them this it at least makes these phones feel more premium you get a Hasselblad themed pro mode you get an optional Hasselblad watermark on your photos. You get their signature orange shutter button which is made to sound like one of their high-end cameras. It’s very satisfying to use and I think just the fact that Hasselblad is a more respected name in the camera space than oneplus is naturally means that this association is going to bring up the perception of oneplus phones.

So on one hand these are good cameras even for the standard oneplus 9 the main 48 megapixel sensor is the one that we used to get in the pro phone last year and for the most part it’s as crispy and snappy as you’d want in an upper mid-range 2021 camera. With a couple of luxuries like a flagship, great ultra-wide camera actually the same ultrawide camera that the 1099-pound find x3 pro was bragging about remember this phone is 629. Even though it’s still a little laggy, the fact that we’ve got two reasonably high-end sensors makes transitioning between them about as seamless as I’ve seen on android. There’s nightscape video 2.0 which makes for undeniably cleaner low-light footage. It can shoot 8k video at 30fps though I’m still struggling to see the benefit in most lighting conditions and that new ultrawide camera. It also doubles as what I would call a solid 6 out of 10 macro camera and the oneplus 9 pro can do one better get this shot right here. The oneplus 9 pro has basically taken the oneplus 8 pro and improved everything which also means it’s kept the optical zoom camera but made it better it can do 3.3 times magnification at full quality which means that as long as you’ve got good lighting. You can get to about 10 times without it looking like anything’s off is this the best camera you can get on a phone.

The oneplus 9 phones will have supremely exact color standards but if you take one photo on the oneplus 9 and then the exact same photo on the pro half the time they look completely different to each other. This calibration was Hasselblad’s one job so to clarify these are good camera systems for their respective prices. I’m just saying that you can a pretty much forget the fact that the Hasselblad logo is on here and you can knock one camera off either of these phones. Because technically the oneplus 9 is a triple camera and the oneplus 9 pro is a quad camera but for both of them one of those cameras is a two megapixel monochrome sensor that in some cases might help you to take more accurate black and white photos. If you open up the camera go into filters and scroll right to the end to activate it. I mean here’s a photo using the monochrome sensor and one without using it I’ll let you decide if it’s something that you care about.

Okay so should you buy these phones? – Oneplus is probably about to come out with something that is about as good but cheaper and that’s pretty much what’s happened here from the screens to the cameras to the specs. But what’s kind of surprising here is how much cheaper when I first got given these phones? I didn’t actually get given a price and so I was looking at other devices from Samsung and Xiaomi and ASUS and other competitors trying to work out how cheap they would need to be such that I would recommend them and it turns out they’re quite a bit below that threshold.

I would rather have this oneplus 9 pro that’s 829 or let’s just say 900 for the sake of getting the highest storage option than the find x3 pro which is 1100 or I would rather have the base oneplus 9 that’s $629 than just about any other phone under $750. Fundamentally because it makes cuts in what I think are the right places like they’ve gone for gorilla glass 5 instead of the very latest gorilla glass victors.

Is Nothing Ear 1 best earphone or just a Hype? Review, Price, Spec |

Nothing Ear 1
Nothing Ear 1

This is a very important pair of earphones. You’ve heard of oneplus. They make smartphones, earphones, and watches. The reason this exists is that last year the guy who started oneplus car play. He decided to leave and create a completely new tech company called Nothing and Nothing Ear 1 is nothing’s first product. It’s a fascinating situation because oneplus already makes really good tech for the most part but for this guy to then leave oneplus and start a new company in the same lane. He must be sure that he can make something even better. This guy has spent nine whole months slowly teasing out details of this mysterious company. How they’ve rethought everything and come out with Nothing Ear 1. How their entire mission is extreme minimalism to create tech that disappears into the background. He even got his fans to become investors in the company before they even knew a single product coming from it. There’s been so much talk and so much build up and it all culminates in this. This pair of earphones is nothing’s one chance to blow people away. It determines the trajectory of the entire company whether they fly straight to the top or just get labeled as yet another tech firm who will say anything to just get a headline and they’re calling it the nothing ear 1.

Into the box of Nothing Ear 1- It’s a small package but a pretty unique one and I think that’s important if the brand messaging is going to talk about a revolution. Then the unboxing experience has to feel distinct. You get a pretty tiny USB-C cable. I won’t be using that some small and some large ear tips the medium ones come pre-fitted and manuals.

Price comparison and features- So the primary thing that you’ve got to keep in your mind here is the apple air pods pro are 249$, Samsung galaxy buds pro are about $200, now Sony’s xf whatever they’re called are $280, the nothing ear ones are $99 and considering that they are off to a flying start because even at that price they have splash and sweat resistance, wireless charging, auto paws when you take one of them at your ear, the latest Bluetooth 5.2 for higher quality audio and better battery and the option to make them blast out a high-pitched squeal.

I think the fact that this company sells primarily direct to the consumer online and the fact that they seem to generate most of their hype using free media just means that their costs are lower and they’re probably also willing to make a little bit less profit because this is their first product and they’re trying to make a good impression. But okay, when I judge a pair of earphones there are five key things that I look for design, fit, noise cancelling, battery and sound and I’m gonna be honest I’m not blown away by the design I thought.

Design of Nothing Ear 1- I was gonna love them the concept of this look really appeals to me but I’m a little disenchanted by the execution of it. Like for anyone who’s ever seen these tech teardowns you’ll know that this whole transparent section is not easy to pull off. It’s one thing to try and make internals that work well but then also making those internals look pretty while hiding all the glue between the scenes is a whole other ball game. Like if you just got a pair of air pods and took the outer layer off they’d look pretty horrific. Also for the most part this is just intelligent design. How each earphone has its own color dot to quickly tell left from right which also helps you line them up in the case, fantastic?

Fit to Ear- The squared off stems makes them more grippable and also allows for a larger microphone than if you had to worry about curvature and just as far as the general quality is concerned. You can’t tell that these are half the price of apples. However I do think this product suffers visually because of how late nothing after the game. Like if you’re an unknown company trying to create a new product in a market that’s already reached some level of maturity then the only real way to squeeze your way in is to be different. I think nothing has taken this thought process to the absolute extreme and so while I really do believe in their whole text should fade into the background mantra, this focus on being excessively unique has almost achieved the exact opposite of that . Nothing has tried so hard to be different that this doesn’t even really look like a cohesive product. You’ve got a transparent half which is sophisticated and technical and then that’s joined onto plain white. It’s like when someone rocks up with a replacement car door that’s clearly not color matched and they’ve done the same thing with the case as well. We’ve ended up with this multi-tiered asymmetrical text sandwich with a weird Mickey Mouse indent that I’m assuming is there to keep the earphones in place is it unique absolutely. Would it have looked better if they’d just done something like this and kept it simple almost definitely but overall I’d give the designer these a six out of ten.

What happened here they are very comfortable? Though the fact that a lot of the circuitry has been put in the stem means that the main chamber which is the bit that sits in your ear can be made a little smaller. So in contrast to their rather loud appearance. They’re actually only slightly less comfortable than the pretty svelte air pods pro when they’re in your ears and comfort was one of those earphones best features. the point is in almost all cases I forgot they were there also this is a bit obscure but with some earphones I have found that when I’m lifting weights for example and I clench my face a bit .they’re so tightly fit that that alone is enough to dislodge them .again not an issue here.

Touch Control- The only two things that aren’t comfortable are sprinting with these in as part of this review I literally put myself through a bleep test. If anyone knows what those are and while they won’t fall out you do feel the slight up and down motion within your ears. But also the touch controls. You get a touch sensitive strip on both earbuds which you can use for things like adjusting volume. It does work some of the time but the bigger issue is that when your ears are sealed off like this and you find yourself. Let’s say triple tapping to skip the song then even if you’re being really gentle, it’s sending such a concentrated sound wave directly into your eardrum. It kind of just hurts. You can try it like if you cover your ear with one finger and then tap that finger with another finger. It’s not pleasant. The air pods cleverly get around this by having an actual button that you don’t need to hit. You can just kind of gently push it but on balance I would still give the fit to these earphones an 8 out of 10.

Noise cancellation- As soon as I turn them on, then I was met with another pleasant surprise. So just like other buds that have active noise cancellation. The ear ones have a microphone on the outside which listens in to external noise and feeds you a sound wave that’s basically the exact opposite of the incoming sound wave. Where there’s a peak in the noise around you the headphones will feed you a trough and thus the waves cancel each other out and you end up with silence. I’m gonna sound like a right special case here but I basically sat in front of my fan for like 15 minutes straight, just cycling different earphones and seeing how they blocked the sound and my conclusion was that these are on about the same level as the air pods. They don’t quite have that disappearing into your own bubbly feelings that you can get on some airplanes but given how light and airy they feel while they’re in. I think the noise reduction is about as good as I think you could expect and the flip side of good isolation is that they also don’t leak sound. We’ve all been there sitting in like a train or a bus and someone in that cabin is using ear pods and unwittingly sharing their entire playlist with the whole cabin that’s not an issue here and if there’s another level if you hold down on these stems it’ll enable transparency mode. Which is basically the exact opposite of noise cancelling. It detects incoming waves and it amplifies them. So you can actually have a conversation with someone and not need to take them out but you do get a fair bit of white noise while using this mode for $99 though I would still give noise cancelling an 8 out of 10.

Battery of Nothing Ear 1- It’s just generally tough to fault how these feels to use and that also applies to the battery assuming. You have the case with you. It sits anywhere between 20 and 35 hours of listening time depending on what volume you’re set at and if you use the active noise cancellation. That’s 600 replays of my favorite song and it just adds to that feeling of being able to forget that they’re. So eight out of ten. But there is one big question mark hanging over these how do the ear ones with all this talk of the sound of change actually sound. Well, this isn’t like reviewing phones one thing worth knowing about earphones is that you can read the entire spec sheet and still have absolutely no idea how they perform. One of the only metrics that does give you some bearing is the size of the driver unit the piece inside that’s actually moving to output the sound. See, we always talk about sound in waves but when you hear something what you’re really hearing is just the compression of air particles which is translated to a force that causes the inside of your ear to move and then your brain interprets that movement as sound. Like if I smack my hands together the reason that’s loud is that because I’m moving quickly, I’m creating a significant compression of air particles and therefore the sound wave that comes from it is powerful. Anyways, the point is a larger driver does mean that an earphone can create bigger compressions.

Drivers used in Nothing Ear 1- Thus resulting in a sound signature that has more impact and so for some perspective the nothing ear 1 have 11.6 millimeter drivers which compares favorably to the air pods pro which are around 11 millimeters but it’s less extravagant than what you would get on Samsung’s earphones. Which actually have two drivers per earphone and 11 millimeter one for the base notes and a 6.5 millimeter one for the high notes. The idea being that you should get even more separation between those areas within your music. I’m going to use the air pods pro as a point of comparison here though because these are my day-to-day earphones and they’re also probably the known benchmark.

Sound quality- The nothing air ones sound better both offer a pretty easy laid back listening experience you could pick up either of these and they’re almost definitely going to enhance your enjoyment of any genre of music but the nothing Ear 1 earbuds just feel a little more forward. Let’s say for example the air pods feel like, you’re at a concert and you’re 100 meters away from the stage then these would feel like you’re 50 meters away and the higher the resolution of music you listen to the more you start to feel the implications of this. that little bit of extra spaciousness you get .the ability to better distinguish one instrument from the other even just the detail you probably wouldn’t notice much of a difference if you’re just watching YouTube videos but every time I would move from +ve’s to these while listening to lossless quality tracks on tidal, I would feel like everything had just been compressed a little bit. Air pods do have adaptive eq, which uses another microphone inside your ears to constantly adjust sound based on the shape of your ear and they do also have a little bit of extra sparkle in the high notes. But the nothings do sound overall richer than the air pods and well ahead of something like the beat studio buds.

Now don’t get me wrong neither of these is the benchmark for sound quality but given the price gap the fact that I would pick the nothings over these for sound is a strong positive. Nothing’s microphones sound pretty good too some of the people I talked to using it, said Nothing Ear 1 was a little more echoey than the air pods which is what we’ve just switched to now but overall the ear ones are quite a likeness. I’m gonna give them a nine for sound.

Conclusion- So the final message that I wanna leave you with here is try to take a step back from the hype. I don’t love how Nothing has handled this launch. How they’ve slowly revealed the design one centimeter at a time via social posts. How they tried to auction off a small number of them before the launch to enhance the perception of exclusivity. How they’ve gone to a whole bunch of influencers to partner with them for giveaways to effectively get them to endorse the product before they’ve even had a chance to test Nothing Ear 1. They basically used every free trick in the book to try and milk as much conversation about this product as possible. But the issue with that is that the expectation also goes up. Whereas in actuality these guys haven’t reimagined sound. These aren’t fundamentally different to any other wireless earbuds out there and they’re actually just a fairly safe tech product in a really outlandish shell. But that doesn’t change the fact that once you step away, once you remove yourself from that hype and just assess these as an overall value prospect, they’re very easy to recommend questionable design but a full feature set great sound and a surprisingly affordable price.

This is all about Nothing Ear 1. Thank you.

The best 22 smartphones of 2021

The best 22 smartphones of 2021-

So, I’ve spent lots of time to get each and every details of all the top globally available smartphones. I’ve rated every single ones performance, camera, battery and display based on what price it’s selling for and giving them an overall value rating. So with that in mind these are the best 22 smartphones of 2021 in the world right now from good to better to the best. Some of these will surprise you.

  1. Nokia X20- So at the back end is Nokia. Specifically the X20 which is their affordable, flagship 2021 phone and Nokia’s doing a lot of great stuff right now. Their phones are all inexpensive. They’re bloatware free. Nokia gives extended warranties and loads of software support. Their entire angle is sustainability. Smartphones that you buy and you keep it really is an admirable message but I think they focused a little too much on this. At the cost of how capable their phones actually are like for this X20. Their marketing doesn’t even mention a single specification. That’s like applying to university but refusing to show them your grades and fundamentally. It’s because, this phone is absolutely crushed by even the cheaper phones from companies like Xiaomi.
  2. Samsung A52- Then we’ve got Samsung. They recently came out with the A52. Which is like their mid-range flagship of the year and there’s nothing inherently wrong with it. It’s a fun design. It’s pleasant to use but it costs too much for what it is. It’s pretty clear that all Samsung’s done is taken one of their top end phones and made everything a bit worse but for $500 in today’s market, you can nearly buy yourself an actual flagship. So you don’t need to make this kind of compromise.
  3. Oppo find X3 PRO- Do you remember the Oppo find X3 PRO the company’s 2021 flagship that looks a little too close to the iPhone for it to be a coincidence. Well there’s plenty to like about it. It’s supremely comfortable for starters. Thanks to being made of one continuous sheet of glass and that microscope camera on the back is it’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen on a phone before. But the main issue and this seems to happen every year is that as soon as Oppo launches a flagship phone, it is pretty much destroyed and valued by Oneplus flagship that launches a month later. Both companies use very similar components and materials and they are good components and materials. But the fact that this phone is selling at the equivalent of fifteen hundred dollars. Makes it much less good for the money and that’s actually a pretty great segue on to our next phone.
  4. ZTE AX130 ULTRA- So we’re getting pretty used to the idea of paying over a thousand dollars for a top-end flagship right but ZTE has something to say about that. Yeah, ZTE they are still making phones. But the AX130 ultra genuinely is worth talking about because it has the highest end snapdragon 888 chipset, a 144 hertz refresh rate amoled display, big battery, fast charging, stereo speakers really everything and it even looks an awful lot like Samsung’s note 20 ultra. Which is not a taller criticism and most significantly I’m told this is going to cost $800. Excuse me I was having a whale of a time with it until I tested the cameras and they really revealed just how much progress the competition has made. Everything from the interface to the image processing feels really behind. I’ll reserve final judgment until updates drop because this camera hardware should be better than this but in its current state.
  5. iPhone 12 mini- They built a fully flagship 5g iPhone that literally fits into your palm. I think a lot of us thought whoa that’s gonna fly off the shelves but it didn’t. According to research firms, this phone only made up about five to seven percent of total iPhone 12 sales. But that doesn’t mean it’s a bad phone .I think the reason it didn’t sell well is because a the price is so close to the much bigger iPhone 12 combined with b the apple has kind of built an association between their smaller phones being their cheaper phones. Which may have created the perception that the 12 mini was an inferior product but really it is the same speedy experience with a great camera as the 12 that I can recommend to any iPhone fan who doesn’t need a power user’s level of battery life.
  6. Rog phone 5- Now we’re getting on to the really good phones the rog phone 5 is a beast. It’s the highest performing smartphone I’ve used today. Its six thousand milliamp hour battery is ludicrous actually earning it the best battery phones so far in 2021 and its speakers are so punchy that you will want to stop whatever it is you’re doing and just lose yourself in them. Its only problem comes from the fact that it’s a pretty specialized device, like it takes a certain kind of user to want to carry a phone of such monumental, proportions, tolerate, some slightly outdated looking bezels and use a camera system that feels noticeably lacking.
  7. Lenovo legion phone dual 2- But if you are that user then bob’s your uncle but what kind of surprised me almost as much as phone number. One is going to surprise you is that even though Asus has been dominating the gaming space for a while. Now I don’t think they’re the best value anymore. Enter the Lenovo legion phone dual 2. It almost exactly matches the rog in specs but you get 50 more ram and 100 more storage by default. It has fans built inside of it instead of needing this external attachment and somehow, it’s cheaper. The hardware on this phone is so good for the money that they can’t be making a lot of profit but it is a little let down on the software front like the camera image processing isn’t getting the best out of the camera hardware
  8. Zenfone 7 pro- It was just this no-nonsense combination of a great price, huge battery, seamless uninterrupted screen and a capable camera that can also double as basically the greatest selfie machine of all time. Well this is basically the successor to that. So as you can probably imagine it’s a very good phone but it’s no longer one of the best simply because all they’ve done is taken last year’s Zenfone 7 and given it a slight spec bump and that’s just not enough against companies who are really pushing. Still though I’m willing to bet that if you ever get to try this selfie camera it is so good that you have to smile.
  9. VIVO X60 pro plus- They kind of developed a reputation for a garish software overlay and crazy levels of skin beautification in the cameras but the VIVO X60 pro plus is the first vivo phone I’ve used that understands sophistication. Aesthetically, it treads the line well between looking fashionable and looking like it means business and everything from the gaming performance to the camera performance is very close to the best. You can buy and it helps that the camera is just super fun to use too. It’s slightly let down by a mono speaker and middle of the line battery but that doesn’t stop me loving it.
  10. iPhone 12 pro- iPhone 12 pro this is a great phone but the reason that it’s not higher up on the list is that the way I see it it’s just an optional extra to the 12. It offers a few fairly minor features like a lidar scanner for better augmented reality and a two times telephoto lens. I appreciate these but for the majority of consumers the only notable difference will be the extra storage it comes with the fact that it’s heavier and the fact that it has a matte finish. It’s basically the iPhone to get if you want to spend a bit more than the base but you don’t want to get the max sized one and that leads me onto the base iPhone 12. Because this phone hugely benefits by how similar it is to the 12 pro. This phone is just as powerful, the screen is almost identical you still get all the same ios features. It’s just $200 cheaper. the only reason this isn’t higher up on the list is that it only comes with a 60 hertz display versus 120 or the 144 we’ve started seeing now and it only starts with 64 gigs of storage which is going to end up being more like 50 by the time you factored in the size of the operating system.
  11. Samsung S21- So still a grade and just above that I would put Samsung space flagships. The S21 and S21 plus are not the most exciting devices. They don’t do anything, particularly new or groundbreaking. In fact in a lot of ways they’re a complete side grade from last year’s S20 phones but they bring in a lot of smaller quality of life improvements. They’ve had a redesign that takes them from some of the worst looking flagships to some of the best in my books and in a bit of a surprise turn of events they’re cheaper than last year’s.
  12. Xiaomi ME 11- This is the Xiaomi me 11. It great. It’s cheaper than the base S21 in just about every region but the spec wise it’s more of a match for the galaxy S21 plus which two hundred dollars is more than that. The best way to think about the mi 11 is there’s a high-end flagship all around with the best in-class display. The only potential hurdle is Xiaomi’s miui software skin.
  13. Oneplus 9- Now this phone had a bit of a rough launch I think what happened is that oneplus basically spent an entire month before it came out hyping up their collaboration with Hasselblad. Giving us never-ending teasers about how it was going to revolutionize photography but then when the phones actually arrived, Hasselblad might as well not have been involved. You couldn’t tell and so justifiably most reviewers came down pretty hard on this. It has a good camera system and even without optical image stabilization it takes crisp, smooth video. Plus of course being an oneplus phone, you get fast bloat free software with guaranteed updates. It’s a little more focused on exactly what the user needs with no unnecessary extras and because of this they’ve managed to keep to their tradition of staying more affordable than their competitors. Definitely a grade phone.
  14. Oneplus 9 pro- Then we’ve got the oneplus 9 pro which is the 9’s more expensive counterpart and the reason it’s above it is that if you have the budget it’s worth. It’s basically the oneplus 9 but with all those little bits that had to be trimmed put back into it .it’s not quite an ultra-phone but it is a fully fleshed out flagship and in my eyes the best flagship phone under one thousand dollars.
  15. Google pixel 4a- Okay we can’t make a list of the best phones without including the pixel 4a. It was Google’s mid-range phone from 2020 and I usually try and refrain from recommending last year’s options when a new one may well be around the corner but given that this is available now for 299 dollars. it’s only gotten better since it launched and the because it’s a google made phone it’ll most likely still get updates all the way till android 14. I wouldn’t hesitate in still recommending it. The pixel 4a should not be as good as it is. No part of this phone’s spec sheet is impressive in 2021 but it’s just carried by phenomenal software. Not to mention it’s a really enjoyable size the bezels are nice and even and it’s powerful enough that I don’t think you’ll be worrying about speed.
  16. Asus Zenfone 8- But as much as I do like the pixel I’d be lying if I said that that was the best compact phone you can get because that award goes to the zenfone 8. This is a flagship phone through and through but unlike that phone this one has a great battery too. This is pretty much the only small phone where the fact that it’s small has no negative consequences. So this is a plus in my books.
  17. iPhone Pro Max- But now we’re on to the big boy phones in fifth place is the iPhone 12 Pro Max. It’s a phone that providing you have the budget and the palm size. It’s an easy win. I totally agree that it’s not the most exciting phone in the world but the reason that this is still the main phone I use on a day-to-day basis is that it’s supremely reliable. The combination of ios levels of optimization with the best hardware you can get on an iPhone. If I want to send a whatsapp voice note I know it’s going to sound good and the battery is going to reliably get me through any day I throw at it. Also this phone is so strong that it’s the first I’ve ever used caseless. I’ve dropped this thing enough times and seen it come back unscathed enough times that I just don’t worry about it anymore. The only two things that do sting a little are the fact that it’s distinctly uncomfortable to hold and that it’s the only phone even close to this price bracket that doesn’t have a high refresh rate screen.
  18. Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra- Now slightly better than even that is why is Samsung’s top end phone. I think the galaxy S21 ultra is genuinely the most refined, polished device they’ve ever released. It’s a big visual upgrade over the S20 ultra plus a long list of subtle corrections which is exactly what that phone needed. It’s taken it from incredibly capable with mixed delivery to incredibly capable with strong delivery. I like the way it looks, I like the way it feels and providing you’ve got a hand big enough to hold it.
  19. Xiaomi ME 11 Ultra- I have no reservations in recommending it and that leaves us with the best overall flagship phone if money was no object and this award is going to the xiaomi me 11 ultra. xiaomi looked at what Samsung was doing and built a phone squarely targeted straight at it takes Samsung’s best features and one-ups it in almost every aspect. For the same price I wouldn’t say it completely invalidates Samsung’s s21 ultra. I think this is still a nicer looking phone. I still think this has a more consistent camera but for a true power user you just can’t get more than this on a phone.
  20. Redmi Note 10 Pro- Well we’ve got two more phones and they’re not trying to be the highest end phones you can buy but they’re focused on value and their value proposition is just so unbelievably good that it makes you want to take a chair, sit down and just have a think what are other companies doing. So in second place is the redmi note 10 pro. Now for those of you who don’t know redmi is a spin-off brand of xiaomi. They have basically built a reputation for one of the highest spec to price ratios on the market. So in this case we have a 108 megapixel camera, a 120 hertz display, 5020 million power battery and its $279. This thing is stupid levels of value. It does have ads in the software but you can turn them off and I mean look these are the kinds of photos I’m taking on this phone. It’s not even funny.
  21. POCO F3- Don’t get me wrong you will know when you’re using it that it’s not a thousand dollar flagship but it outperforms its price so severely that I’m gonna have to give this an a plus in terms of value and that leaves us with number one the most worth it phone of 2021 and I guess by implication the most worth it phone to have ever released it’s the poco f3. Just like redmi, poco is yet another value-centric spin-off company of xiaomi but the difference with this phone is that it’s less about camera and it’s more about processing power. So in this case for $350, you get a 120 hertz amoled display, you get a 4520 milliamp hour battery but the kind of crown jewel. Here is a snapdragon 870 chip. It’s not the absolute bleeding edge you can get but it’s an overclocked version of last year’s flagship 865. For this price that is ridiculous levels of performance. It makes the google pixel 4a look like it belongs in a museum and while this isn’t google pixel quality software no amount of software is going to change the fact that it’s twice as powerful and I think what makes this phone particularly impressive is the fact that it takes more than a cursory glance to even realize that it’s not a flagship. It still has a glass back, it still has decent haptics and it’s just crazy that I can play the most demanding games on the entire android platform at nearly their highest settings on a phone that costs barely a quarter of what the highest n1’s do and so the poco f3 earns not just my best affordable phone award but also my overall best value phone award.
  22. POCO M3 PRO- If you wanted to go even cheaper, you can get the poco m3 pro. Which is fantastic value or something like the real me 8 for $200. But my general recommendation is that if you can try to spend a bit more you will get a lot more. Okay couple of things to mention here. There’s been no LG on this list because sad to say but LG has finally left the smartphone market. There’s been no Sony on this list. Because at the time of filming they haven’t quite launched their next Xperia 1 mark iii and also to be honest thus far I have not tested a single Sony phone that I thought for a mainstream market was better than the competition but open to changing my mind on that in the future though and finally I decided to keep foldables out of this article as a category of phones. I feel like they’re much harder to rank under the same criteria.

So, this is all about the best 22 smartphone of 2021. Thank You.

Hello and welcome to HalloFly. In this article I am going to be talking about Navarasa, an anthology of nine films based on the nine rasas and it’s been produced by Mani Ratham and Jayendra Panchapakesan.  It’s an effort to help the daily wage workers who’ve been hit by the pandemic. The artists and the technicians worked without remuneration. So there’s no question about the merit of the project itself. But now let’s look at the merit of the individual films in the order presented by Netflix.

Bhajan Nabiya’s Edhiri comes first. It has Prakash Raj Vijay Satyapathi and Revati who’s simply spectacular. Now all acting is a combination of the director’s inputs and the actor’s instincts but it’s finally the actor who puts it all in front of the camera and there are two instances of acting that Revati does that I’m going to be remembering for a long time. One is when she goes into room and sees something really terrible. We are not shown immediately what it is but she retreats she doesn’t scream or do anything like that you know. She just retreats in a kind of a horrified silence and she that scene is just amazing. Another scene that I’m going to remember for a long time again for acting is when there’s a tragedy that’s happened and she doesn’t cry. She doesn’t do anything. Her face is absolutely still but on every inch of her face you see a sense of so many feelings that we come to know about later. In the film about how she could have done something better or you know, how this tragedy has ended everything in her life that’s all that happening and she just shows it with this. Almost still life like expression on her face. She’s simply magnificent.

The film however is less. So it plays like something like an interior monologue from a destroyer ski novel. It’s certainly interesting in concept and I love brevity’s big speech at the end which is a series of what-ifs. What if this happened what if that had happened but the film is quite wordy and doesn’t have the power that the premise suggests and you see in this film a lot of qualities that you will see in quite. A few films in this anthology some great craft some terrific performances but also an overall sense of genericness. Also many of the films make you want to rethink the value of background score and songs in our films. Especially when there isn’t a real purpose for them do.

We really need to emphasize the sadness on someone’s face with two lines of a sad song doesn’t the acting like suffice isn’t that enough priyadarshan summer of 92 is especially guilty of this. There is a non-stop score practically like that in a cartoon now in this film yogi babu plays a yogi babu like character. Somebody who’s come from a modest background become a big comedy star and now he’s back at his old school to deliver a speech. Now he keeps recalling incidents from the past and there’s already been there done that kind of feel to the comedy here. This is the hashiraza and the one time I laughed out loud in the whole anthology was actually in the next film not this film.

If you are looking for Fear Street Triology 2021 Review : Click here

But the next one where the prasanna character tells the arvin swamy character. Well now I’ll finally have that whiskey. Now this film is directed by karthik naren and its called project agni and it’s a very very curious creature. It’s overtly derivative of Hollywood and the director himself makes no bones about it. He doesn’t want to hide it because he name drops both nolan and stanley Kubrick. He also does a hat trick to Indian myths by naming a couple vishnu and Lakshmi. Now karthik naren does something that’s really difficult to find in a films he gets the mix of tamarind English just right in the dialogue and the writing is solid and it builds. Its sci-fi universe really well without making it feel like spoon feeding. There are well-timed explanations that keep us in the loop but we never feel that somebody’s patronizing us the point is that we feel as mind-fucked as the prasanna character and yet there is no wow factor by the end which feels like a rather cheap twist but advent swami is simply superb. Here his pauses his gestures everything is just right uh. They say that some people become better actors as they grow older and as they get more life experience. If that’s true then he is proof.

Now the next film is by vasan sai and it’s one of the best films in the anthology. It is called payasam and it is based on a t jhana kiraman story. Now wasan’s trajectory has been one of the strangest in Tamil cinema. Usually directors start out really strong and then kind of seem to lose it as they go along. You know they kind of seem to lose their craft. Their sense of storytelling. As they go along but in wasan’s case it’s a bit of the reverse because it’s early films where pleasant nice middle class middle brow films. They were more about the writing the performances. You wouldn’t exactly call it pure cinema. You didn’t go and see it for the staging and things like that but ever since he shifted to what we might call parallel cinema with the films like shivering new menu silipengalum.

He has become a superb craftsman. Now that film two was based on stories by authors actually three major authors Ashoka Mithran Jaimohan and other one but the end product was so much more in biosam vasanth tells a very simple story with the brilliant contributions of his team. The editor sanga tamiran the cinematographer satyan suryan and the composer justin prabhakaran who’s one of the few composers in this anthology. Who goes with the flow of the film and does exactly what the film needs rather than trying to impose his own signature on the music and trying to create like a random kind of background music.

Now the setting is a tamra wedding in kumbakonam in 1965 and the narrative is driven by the feelings felt by the character felt by delhi ganesh. Now vasun does two things simultaneously. On the one hand he gives us the emotions felt by the delhi ganesh character he keeps escalating that and on the other hand he keeps showing us the preparations around the wedding. The way he does this is terrific and when the story ends you get that wonderful feeling that wonderful snap you get when a good short story ends the next film is bakarthik subraj who totally atones for the excesses of jagamethandiram.

Now this is his first full-fledged elim film and it is filled with his trademark craft his brilliant craft for example. There are the single takes. There is a simple 180 degree camera move that establishes two different geographies but in the same location the story starts Gautha Menon Sanant and bobby simha and what starts out as casual banter between them slowly escalates into a tense mission. At the end we get a message but after that we also get a brilliant subversion of the message like the Vasant movie the simplicity. Here is what really makes the movie work because when you combine the simplicity of the story with the complexity of the craft and the telling and the idea behind it. Then you get this thing that just works the end effect is really powerful and then we get the best film of the anthology by a newbie director named arwen swami. Oh my god in every possible sense this film just blew my mind santosh shivan is back in full form. The flow of the story the craft the performances by ritika and sriram everything fits together phenomenally well and I have to give a special mention to the dialogues and the staging my favorite shot is a sudden extreme close-up that that kind of emphasizes the suddenness of our realization of who a character really is there’s so much depth and density in the story about anger and it plays tricks with you.

For example whose anger is it really the easily externalized anger of one character or the slowly simmering and internalized anger of another character also the timelines. What timelines are we in whether it’s the major misdirection or the minor touches like a line equating women with gold. Everything is beautifully done again like in the kartik subraj movie. We get a message but it is camouflaged in the form of a school speech and it is totally subverted. At the end this is brilliant stuff and then we get the film by prasad which starts siddharth and parvati and we are back to the flavor of the initial films in the anthology. There’s some great craft good performances but there’s also an overall sense of genericness. The power in the story about a woman who meets a mysterious man doesn’t quite translate into a powerful film.

The same thing could be said about sergeant’s film which starts atarva and Kishore. There is a wonderful ending where there is a wonderful sense of incompleteness a question mark hanging over whatever happens but the rest of the film which is mostly a philosophical conversation between an sdf officer and an axel doesn’t quite build up to that powerful ending. Again instead of sharp and specific emotions we are left with a sense of genericness.

Finally we get to the most high profile film of the anthology starring surya and priyaga rose martin and directed by gautam menon, Guitar Kambi Mele Nindru . The film is a mixed bag but the conceit is superb the storyline subverts the traditional arc of a romantic movie. Where you see the beginning middle and end of a relationship I won’t tell you how but what gautam does is just right for a short film but as great as this concept is the film is at least 15 minutes too long and there are portions that feel in the middle. Especially there are portions that feel very repetitive and there is a song in a nightclub kind of situation. Uh it feels like it could have totally been axed and we would have lost nothing at all. In the movie another song uses the prelude from the ninja korea number from agdenashitram and I think what gautam is also doing here is doing a bit of a hat tip to the manidata romance from the late 80s but after a point the cutest in the dialogues begins to feel a little off and you feel that the same flavor would have worked had the film been shorter had the duration been shorter but I love the last stretch where gotham does this experimental thing by telling the story almost entirely through song and I just did not see that end coming prayaga rose martin has an interesting vibe to use a word from the film and she plays someone who’s a little too sure of herself a little too confident and she vibes very well with surya who’s in good form. The role is not exactly a stretch for the actor but he really pulls it off but the real heroes of the film are the editor anthony and especially pc shiram who finally seems to have found his vibe with gautama menon. After their rather generic last outing in that episode the colors pop and the framing with plenty of close-ups and really really going into the faces of the people is exquisite this man. He’s truly a legend and I really hope gautam gets to make a full-length feature film with sriram because these really seem to have kind of struck this card and it’s going to be really interesting to see what they do together. So that’s it for Navarasa Review.

Calyx Os – Will it compete largest Android OS? 2021

Calyx OS- Everything you need to know-

Fun fact for the past week I’ve not been using android or ios I’ve been using something called Calyx os and it’s the most fascinating operating system you’ve never heard of. I’m going to tell you why there’s a need for it. What exactly it is? How it’s better than normal android? Like some of the stuff it does is a complete game changer and then how much of a threat. It is to Google. Okay, so the one thing that we need to establish for this to make any sense is that android at its very core is open source meaning that its code is completely public and because of that there are no hidden trackers or spyware, Google made it this way. Because back when it started they had nothing.

They were behind apple in the race for a smartphone operating system and so the way they encouraged people to adopt android and develop for. It was by using the fact that it’s completely free and open but this is changing as android started to explode in popularity. Google realized well hey this is great but we’re not really benefiting from this for as long as android remains open source. The code is everyone’s. It doesn’t really belong to us. What we want is really to channel this user base that we’ve built up and push them towards closed source. Google products that do make us money like our chrome browser. So as the years have gone on Google has one by one been taking the core features of android. The calendar, the music app, the keyboard, the camera and improving them. But then making the improved versions of these apps closed source instead of open.

If you are looking for the details about Amazon Mini TV – Click here

They’ve made it such that for you to use YouTube, Gmail maps or even any app that just has Google services. In its code like Uber. Then you have to consent to handing your data to Google play services whose code base and inner workings are completely hidden. We don’t know what data is being collected. We just know that data is being collected an average android phone connects to Google servers once every 4.5 minutes to send them info about you some of it for your benefit to allow your apps to work. But some of it probably not you’ve got to remember that first and foremost Google is an advertising company.

So there’s the obvious implication that at least some of this data will be used to just squeeze more money out of users by laser targeting them with just the right ads at just the right time. But there are bigger implications. Because we know that this data is not always just kept within Google. There are plenty of governments around the world who want to control and censor their populations and Google has been shown to have willingly handed over user data when asked for it by those governments. We’ve even had cases where innocent people have been taken to court because their Google location data has shown that they were near the scene of a crime. How did law enforcement get that data Google gave it to them?

I mentioned that at its very core if you stripped away all those extras from Google and your service providers android is open source right well kalix uses that core but instead of having Google play services as the layer that sits on top of that it uses something called micro g which you could think of as a bit like a fake id for your phone. It creates a random anonymous unique identifier which allows it to be registered as a certified Google device. But one for which your activity can’t be traced back to you. So I can use Google maps, I can watch YouTube videos, I can download apps without needing to sign into a single account and using this os you get not one but two app stores. You have android which provides you with 100 open source applications whose code is completely public and so by their very nature cannot steal your data.

But then also the aurora store which is super interesting it’s basically the play store except when you download an app through it, instead of you going directly to Google and requesting that app it’s aurora. Who goes to Google and gets that app for you. So the only info about you that Google sees is a random email address that the aurora store creates for you. The only thing it can’t do right now is let you pay for apps. I think they’re working on that but what’s really cool is that also unlike the play store aurora tells you for every single app how many and which trackers it comes with you’re starting to get the idea. Calyx os basically has most of the main perks of android but I’ve barely touched on this yet. You will not believe the privacy features for example.

It has a built-in firewall that allows you to restrict what level of internet access that you want each of your apps to have. Let’s say for example that I really want to use the closed source Google pixel camera app because really the quality of Google’s open source android camera kind of sucks but at the same time I’m worried about the faces of my friends and family potentially being stored on a server somewhere. Well now I can still download the app and then just use the firewall to cut off its communications with Google fun fact doing this also removes ads and extends your battery life because you’re limiting the amount of processes that are happening in the background.

I’ve actually got the exact same phone here pixel 5 and this one’s running android and when I tested the battery side by side this isn’t a conclusive experiment but I found that calyx os lasted six percent longer which is still significant plus it gives you supreme control over app permissions including a visualization of how many times each permission of your phone has been accessed but on top of that it has a permanently active free VPN baked into it to make your internet traffic untraceable. That said I’ve turned mine off because the fact that it is a single server based all the way in New York does bottleneck my speed these are just such thoughtful features for example on calyx os. When you go into the dialler and call someone by default instead of using a normal voice call which can be snooped on. It will do a signal call to them which is end-to-end encrypted.

In fact they’ve literally managed to swap every single data gathering app for a clean alternative that doesn’t feel like a compromise. They swapped Google chrome for chromium which is basically chrome but without all the proprietary extras Google maps has gone. In place of open street maps even Google drive is gone and instead in its place you have seed vault which can back up all your files both to a local USB drive and an open source cloud solution called nextcloud. But this whole privacy thing it’s about more than just privacy from Google. It’s also just privacy from everyone else.

For example if you go into the dialler, you have a list of helplines things like the number for domestic abuse in your region or childline or suicide hotlines and this software will know that when you dial those numbers not to save them in your call log. In case someone in your own home tries to pry they’ve even got. I just think this is such a wacky interesting feature a panic button. So if I hold down my power button I can see emergency services and the option to shut down as usual but also this third option and I can configure that button to do pretty much wherever I want wanted to. I can make it hide my private messages, I can make it delete certain apps, I can even make it factory reset my phone. If I get into a really sticky situation I spent the last two days trying to fault this os but I’m struggling like yes the default calyx os user interface is kind of grim but it’s got enough customization controls that you can pretty much recreate.

The look of any other company’s home screen. Yes there are some Google features that you just can’t use on this phone without logging into your Google account even when you have micro g like for example. If I just want to plot a route on Google maps I can do that anonymously but if I then want to quick select from my past routes then I am going to have to log in because Google needs to know which user I am but this is kind of the whole appeal of an operating system like this installing alex. Once is not just going to immediately make you disappear off the grid like you never existed but it is going to give you that control back it’s going to mean that you can pick the level of privacy you want based on the features.

You need as opposed to just defaulting to sharing everything this all seems a bit too good to be true and so at this point I started wondering who made this why isn’t everyone using calyx os instead of android and should Google be worried about this after all it’s basically encouraging people to use Google services without Google getting the full benefit from that. This only works on Google pixel devices besides for the time being at least even though Google and other companies do have piles of data on us and even though there does seem to be a growing population who would go to great lengths to protect their privacy. For the vast majority it’s still not enough of an incentive to go through even the minor effort of installing something like this.

There’s no hard evidence that for an average user in a democratic society giving away their data causes them any harm and so this entire pitch of trying to protect that data. It doesn’t really carry any urgency. I’m the same and to be honest the only reason I can even do this talk tech with you and make a living from it is because of these trackers and spyware that Google uses. So it has its positives too oh while you’re out there. Recently just get calyx os working on a xiaomi phone and I could see the appeal of it let’s just say xiaomi said yeah sure we’ll use calyx os on one of our models then straight away without any effort on their part.

They’ve already got their slogan sorted keep your private stuff private no probably not that slogan actually but I guess what makes this really tricky is that xiaomi would then be running the risk of getting on the wrong side of Google which given how much they rely on them may not be the best idea it’s tricky one. Someone who is more privacy conscious who knows maybe one day this will be the norm okay at this point. I probably don’t need to tell you what a VPN is if you either want to browse the internet anonymously change the location of your device to another country to watch tv shows from that country or just avoid censorship or even if all you want is to escape data throttling from your internet service provider then a VPN is the way to go.

What are the best 10 Add-On features for car?

Add-On features for car
Add-On features for car-

Modern cars are full of electronics so much so that a car is just a computer with a car app on it now. Or rather a computer “with a bunch of metal wrapped around it“, according to James Altucher.

And we will have soon the first self-driving cars, with a whole host of philosophical implications, both positive as well as negative.

One idea in the book “Become an Idea Machine” was to be able to vibrate the frame, so that snow could be shaken of easily instead of having to scrap the car free by hand.

This invention would come especially handy now that the winter is upon us, at least in the Northeast of the US. Here are some more!

Imagine you could just melt the snow away.

#1 Add-On features for car– Heatable metal frame

Similar to enabling the metal frame to vibrate to get rid of snow, the frame could be heated up.

It could actually work better than simply shaking the car, because it would get rid of hardened ice that gets stuck on the car.

We already have that technology in-car windows, so I imagine implementing it within the metal would not be too difficult.

#2 Add-On features for car– An electrical theft protection that stuns would-be thieves.

Imagine you forgot your nicest purse or the brand new laptop computer you just bought in your car.

Of course, that is the moment somebody decides to smash the window in and steal your items. It always happens in those situations, right?

Most cars have alarms, but most people just ignore the noise and let the thiefs carry on thieving.

If you are looking for Jeep Compass vs Tata Harrier vs MG Hector Top three SUVs 2021: click here

Now – how about the car alarm would send an electric shock out? Maybe even strong enough to stun the person trying to break in, so he falls asleep right there in front of your car, ready to be picked up by the police.

If every car had this kind of alarm, thefts would probably be drastically reduced. Nobody wants to risk getting zapped!

#3 Add-On features for car– Head-Up display.

A display like this, but for the road

Whenever I drive, I have to glance down at my instruments to see how fast I am going and whether there is still enough gas in the tank.

A distraction that could potentially lead to accidents.

An elegant solution to that dilemma is to have a HUD or Head-Up display on the windshield – the same system that military pilots have.

Imagine that – not only can you comfortably read your speed, oil and gas, no – the only thing missing to turn your car into a high-tech fighter jet is simply the ability to take off (we will probably have flying cars around some time in the nearer future).

#4 Add-On features for car– Uplink to Google Glass or iPhone for easier navigation.

This could be a very practical way to get to your destination.

Imagine you see a restaurant and you’d like to come back. If you have GPS, you’d type in the address and the navigation system brings you there.

Maybe there could be an easier solution. Imagine you take a photo of that restaurant with either your smart phone or Google glass.

Then, the car links up to your iGlass or phone, compares your photo with its own database, identifies the restaurant and directs you there.

Without you having to type.

Or maybe you spent some vacation time on the beach and you really loved it. After you are back home, all you have though is a photo.

The car could check its own database of places in the surrounding area and direct you to a place that is similar to your holiday beach.

Even though you are in Connecticut and the original beach was in Spain.

Wouldn’t that save a lot of time trying to find the directions to a spot that you are not even sure is a good place to relax?

#5 Add-On features for car– Ejection seat.

Are you ready to imagine the fighter plane again?

If his plane crashes, the pilot escapes certain death through the ejection seat.

But what do you do if your car veers off the road towards a tree or oncoming traffic?

You could eject as well. Of course, ejecting from the ground up would not give you enough distance to be able to use a parachute.

So instead, your car seats could have jetpacks that keep you in the air and let you slowly and safely down onto the ground.

#6 Add-On features for car– Self-sealing wheels.

Bursting tires are a hassle. You have to elevate the car, take off the old tire and put on a replacement tire, then get a “real” one from the workshop.

How about having self-sealing tires instead?

A sensor would detect the flat tire.

Then, a computer would balance the weight of the car onto the three other wheels – so that the car stays stable even at high-speeds.

During 20 seconds or so the damaged wheel gets automatically sealed.

After that, you could drive the car smoothly into the next repair shop. Hassle-free and safe.

#7 Add-On features for car– A fog radar/sonar

Fog is a common source for accidents.

It is important to note that people do drive more carefully when there is fog everywhere.

The biggest problem is sudden banks of fog on the road that people just careen into.

Imagine a car in front of you vanishing in the fog, and, unbeknownst to you, slows down. You have little chance avoiding a crash.

That’s how many traffic accidents in fog happen.

However, if your car had a radar or sonar, it could automatically detect the car in front of you and reduce your speed – or make your car stop altogether.

#8 Add-On features for car– Ice-proof tires

If you have ever walked outside the snow during winter, you know how treacherous small pockets of black ice can be.

It doesn’t matter how careful you are, your shoes all of a sudden lose grip and you slip.

Let’s hope when that happens, you can still come up with a rhyme!

The same dangers hold true for cars. Pockets of ice the car all of a sudden runs into, loses track and veers off the road.

Smart materials though can change their properties when you apply an electromagnetic field.

So the idea is when a sensor recognizes that the tires are slipping, an electrical current could change the shape or density of the tires to restore their grip.

So the cars would never veer off the road, or could relatively easily catch any drift, correct and bring the car back on track.

#9 Add-On features for car– A damage absorbing finish.

Some of the most annoying problems with cars are small scratches.

Should you get your car fixed or is it not worth the effort? Those small blemishes can be pricey to correct.

And as long as we use the car every day, we often can’t afford the time.

But it still annoys us, especially when someone keys our car.

What though if you had color pigments that could be magnetized, or adjusted by sending a small current of electricity through?

You simply apply an electromagnetic field and then realign the pigments. Maybe even integrate additional pigments into the finish.

Scratches would disappear, plain and simple. 10 minutes. No hassle! From the ease of your home.

#10 Add-On features for carCar Hotel.

One of the most attractive qualities about first class seats in planes is that they complete flatten out, allowing for some sweet, undisturbed sleep.

Cars are not known as replacements for comfortable beds.

Although if you drive behind some slower cars, you wonder whether they don’t have beds instead of seats inside.

That being said, if you are traveling with your car for a longer while, either for vacation or a conference, wouldn’t it be great if you never had to worry again about finding a hotel?

Why not make the dashboard retractable and your car seats unfold into a full-fledged bed?

Maybe you could even have a way to take an ultrasound shower or something like that, if no facilities are close by.
