We all know that in past two years, Insta360 debuted with their modular action cam, which changes to different modified camera settings once accessories are added and removed. Now, this year Insta360 making quite improvement to the two-years old model with the Insta360 One RS.
No, they did not make much difference. Instead, they are often small upgrades that seek to improve various aspects of a versatile camera. From a revised setup system and increased microphone to faster wireless connections and an improved processing unit, the new camera mostly features minor updates that can create a much better user experience.
The Insta 360 One RS Features:
The Insta360 One RS maintains the same functionality and form factor as its predecessor. This means that you start with a basic unit, and then attach what you need for each type of photography you do. For example, you can attach your updated 4K action cam and then attach the built-in 1.3-inch screen so it’s either front-facing (for selfies) or back-facing, depending on how you use it. By the way, the 4K action camera has an updated inch sensor that allows it to shoot 48-megapixel photos and 4K video at 60 frames per second. However, it also has a new 4K Boost lens that enhances its video capabilities, allowing it to shoot in 6K resolution for widescreen, as well as an Active HDR mode that allows for better highlights and shadows on fast-paced action videos.
By the way, the display unit gets a lot of improvements. Although the screen is the same, there are other things that are updated in it. For example, they introduced additional microphones for better sound capture, but added wind noise reduction algorithms to ensure clearer audio recording when shooting outdoors. It also gets a faster Wi-Fi radio that features 50 percent faster wireless transmission compared to the original radio.
Of course, the Insta360 One RS comes with a 360-degree unit that turns the kit into a 360-degree camera, letting you record spherical shots at 5.7K. A high-quality Leica wide-angle module is included with a 1-inch sensor that you can use as the main camera, allowing you to capture shots with more detailed detail and true-to-life colors, even in low light. These two units are mostly similar to the previous generation, so you can skip them and only buy the other units if you’re upgrading.
It retains the same high-end features set as the original, including the ability to automatically hide selfies on the screen, 360-degree horizon lock, and automatic artificial intelligence. FlowState stabilization is also believed to be improved in this generation, with stabilization directly into the camera, rather than post-processing, when wide-angle lens units are used. Other features include 8X slow-mo on the 4K Boost lens, 4x slo-mo on the 360 lens, water resistance up to 16 feet, live support with the 360 lens and video calling support with any lens. Most units of the One R will still work with the One RS, although some units (such as the One R Core when paired with a 4K Boost Lens) will have to wait for a hardware update after booting.
